I was glancing through Facebook Marketplace today and came across a heavy flat link gold bracelet that looks identical to the one that my wife lost a little over 3 weeks ago. However, I’m trying to get a photo of the other side of it as my wife’s was shiny on the one side and had a decorative pattern on the other side. We have a photo of her wearing it a month ago.
It is very expensive due to its weight and the guy is asking $2500 on marketplace. I don’t know how to handle this if the photo shows that it actually is hers.

I would certainly involve the police, but how do you prove it’s yours? A photo may not be proof of ownership Is the bracelet unique? Do you have a receipt for purchase? Are the police ‘aware’ of the seller? Good luck.

Although this also has a decorative design on the other side, it’s pretty worn in comparison to the one she lost. I’ve been hoping that whoever found it would have posted it online somewhere.

That's a tough one- where would one even post that? Craigslist? FB? For a valuable item like that i would probably turn it into a lost and found

Spent the morning at the range and then did the 5.5 hour drive to Columbus. Traffic was pretty easy, thank goodness. Tomorrow I will be meeting up with a friend to see the sights

The day started out okay, but I got a phone this afternoon that really soured it. The drummer for a band I played with for several years has pancreatic cancer and it's become acute a lot more quickly than anybody expected. Now it's a matter of days. I had arranged for his band to borrow a PA system from one of my other musician friends and now it appears it needs to be picked up and moved quickly. I guess that'll be one of my projects for the weekend.

I’ve got a meeting with my financial advisor this morning. We are going to see if we need to start taking out some extra money every month. However, this month, my wife starts receiving her Canadian Pension and we may not need to do anything…..especially now when the market is pretty volatile. We’ll see what she says.

My FA gave me a couple of tax saving ideas and when I applied them to our taxes, I doubled our already substantial refund! I called my nephew (accountant) and asked him how this could happen and we did a quick run through over the phone. Yup, I did it all correctly and I could probably buy a very nice Martin or Gibson with the refund but I enjoy my life and living. 😎
i guess we’ll just put it in our savings.

Well, it's hard to have a bad day when it's N.G.D. I also had one bit of good news too - The last spare case I had to sell is now spoken for by a guy on Facebook Marketplace. He's e-transferring the money today, and driving up up-Island on Sunday morning to pick it up. The guy owns a Rickenbacker and I gather the body's quite wide, so he was thrilled to find something that'll fit. I had a guy with a Flying V interested too, but it turned out my case is about 3/8" too narrow.

Great day with my friend here in Columbus. We definitely did the twin and he took me out for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We started drinking beer at noon so right now at 22.40 I'm feeling it pretty good and I'm ready for bed

Have to pop round my mate's house this afternoon. He's building an amp for someone and he wants me to test it with a Les Paul & my Trussart. The buyer is a guitarist friend of ours and we have similar tastes, so hence the initial tryout by me

Going to finish off my income tax today and send it off. Then I think I'll change the strings on my Martin as my buddy is coming over next Tuesday for another acoustic jam and they were sounding a little dead the last time we got together.
EDIT: never got around to the Martin as I had the window installation company here looking at 2 of the windows that they installed. One of them has a binding problem when I turn the crank. The other window (a side slider) seems to have an inherent design flaw that would affect all side sliders. These windows are supposed to be easy to clean by being able to hinge inward. One pane can do that while the other is impeded by a lip. Both problems seem to be design related so the guy is calling the manufacturer to come and look at them.

I'm just dealing with a series of small stuff today. This afternoon, I'll exchange the strap knobs and Strap Loks between the Hofner and the Tele, and give the last sold case a thorough cleaning before it's picked up Sunday. I'm also going to investigate case prices. Since it turns out that the HI459 will fit in the existing bass case, I'll do some checking on whether it's cheaper to buy a second violin bass case than the Yorkville guitar case from Long&McQuade.

Drove back from Columbus today- it was a little over 500 miles and I drove it in 7 1/2 hours. Including a couple quick stops the trip took 8 hours almost to the minute. Tired!

I don’t know if you have Amazon Prime but if so, there’s free shipping on these. I can’t seem to find them on the L&M website. www.amazon.ca/Fender-099-4914-000-American-Locking-Buttons/dp/B0002OP7XY/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

Well I don’t have to worry about my wife’s gold chain anymore. Yesterday when the guy came to check our windows, we found it under the large sofa when we moved it. My wife was so relieved and I’m glad I didn’t say anything to the guy who was selling his gold bracelet. The weekend that she lost it, we were getting things ready for our daughters birthday and we made stops at a jewellery store in downtown Hamilton, a bakery in Niagara Falls and numerous stores here in Stoney Creek. We called every store that we went to and asked if anyone had turned anything in. We figured it was lost for good as it was worth a good amount of money due to its weight.
I almost want to solder the clasp on it so that it won’t open again. Hell, the guy figured his was worth $2500, I’m sure this one must be similar in value.

Ugh what a day. We played in the parade and it didn't go well at all. The drum section was terrible and the guy who was supposed to be drum major got lost, so they had to pull some guy out of the lineup to try to major. He did his best and I'm not complaining about him but he didn't know the commands and the drums were rolling off at the wrong times, the street best wasnt confident and the whole thing was sub par. Luckily one of the marches sounded good so at least we didn't bomb at the reviewing stand. Also luckily it isn't my son's band, just a band we play in

I guess every band has it's good days and bad, but it probably feels good that your name isn't right up front. Besides, keep in mind that when things go wrong, it's a given that everybody will point fingers at the drummer, lol.
I got most of the small stuff done today that was on my list. I'm just taking a coffee break before I sit down to do the strap button exchange between the two guitars. That case I cleaned up for pickup tomorrow morning sure cleaned up nice. I'm really impressed with the quality of job that Meguiars vinyl care does of making tolex look new. Makes me wish I had a guitar that fit it properly. My Duosonic is now living under my bed without a case. Since the guitar's going to be sold (for a lot less than it cost to build) I'm not going to run out and buy a gig bag for it.

Well my brain feels like it's bigger than my skull, but otherwise not a bad day--gettign some things done--and have a few more that have been neglected with how busy it's been--so a catch up day can be a good thing.
I'll have to try getting some playing in later...

Parade bands really rely heavily on the drummers. Sure, all bands do, but roll offs announce the beginning of each song and if there is confusion it is pretty obvious to the audience. It could also result in half of the band starting to play a song

A fairly satisfying finish to my day....I decided to list another item on Facebook Marketplace before I called it a night. I put up an ad for my Alesis Vocalist's Playmate and had a firm commitment from a buyer in less than two minutes. That's gotta be the fastest sale I've ever made. The buyer's coming up from Victoria Monday or Tuesday to pick it up. This is great...between the spare case I just sold and the vocalist's processor tonight, it pretty much pays for the case for my new guitar.

Fairly productive today. I got up early and did a laundry, came back upstairs and did my dishes, and a bit of tidying up. My customers coming to pick up the last guitar case I sold, and early this afternoon, I'm going to help pick up the PA system one of my friends loaned to my old band. After I get home, I need to spend some time going over the songlist for the band rehearsal that's coming up Tuesday.
