I'm normally more of a rock and roller, but this is a song we played in the last band that I used to enjoy.

And now for something completely different. I saw this online a few months ago and it made enough of an impression that I bookmarked it.

I like how they didn't just do it note for note exact--btu had some orchestral embellishments that mirror the original -yet still have a life of its own.

this song was popular back in 1972 when I was overseas. Great song! I was doing the drive-time show on the local AM station when this came out and it got played a lot.
Thanks for the memory!

A classic scene from a classic movie--with a classic soundtrack:
Or if you just want the music without the intro scene & all that:

The guitarist on Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" was James Wilsey who was a hell of a player and a really nice guy to boot. He was a member of the Fender Discussion Page during my time on that forum and he could coax some of the lushest tones I've ever heard from a Strat. James had personal issues in his life that probably led to his early demise, but I thought enough of him to want to mention him and have people remember him as a world-class guitar player.
He did a wonderful cover of Santo & Johnny's "Sleepwalk"

This was after Sharon Jones beat cancer, but before it came back and she passed away. A fantastic talent who deserved a longer career.

When I think back to the 70's there are a few songs that define the music of the times. This is one of them.....Al Stewart in 1976....

Okay, since we seem to be in a 70's groove at the moment, here's one I always liked. Joni Mitchell wrote it, Crosby Stills and Nash owned it on Top 40 radio, but on the MOR AM stations, we were playing Mathews Southern Comfort's version of Woodstock. Some very classy musicianship in this version....
