Not doing so good. I was at the hospital till almost midnight when they released me with some narcotic painkillers and a vague statement that they "hope it will resolve". They're making an appointment for me to consult with a neuro-surgeon and said I should expect a call within 48 hours with a time for the MRI they're booking. This apparently is related to the arthritis in my neck and back. Still can't sleep and it's hard to eat because it hurts to chew.

We’ve finished setting up for our daughters 30th B-day party. We’ve even got a 5’ tall blowup champagne bottle in the dining room. I set up a little bar in the kitchen and we are setting up a charcuterie board on the island for everyone to enjoy. Everything is under control except where everyone is going park. I’ve got room for one extra car on my driveway and the snow plow did a shitty job clearing the street. We’ll figure something out. ![](//storage.proboards.com/6378980/thumbnailer/iSPFzEaNFOstsujFNtwn.png)

Party went well, food was excellent, lots of wine, great conversations and we finally all got to hug each other again.
Actually, her birthday is today, the 28th. If she could have hung on for about 14 more hours, she could have been a leap year baby!
Today, my wife and I are just going to “veg” as we worked our asses off for the last few days. Besides, I’m tired as hell as I woke up around 4am and had trouble falling back asleep.

I'm feeling somewhat better than I did yesterday. I was a bit panicking when I realized I'd taken my last painkiller early this morning, but have made arrangements with the doctor to have them call me and authorize an emergency supply of meds to get me through the day.
No plans today otherwise....Just a restful day of recuperation. I'll sure be happy when things are back to normal.

Sigh. Not a bad day at work but I don't feel well today. No, not the Rona, but I don't feel right.
Sadly I had a really bad row with my son yesterday and it is one of those that had spilled into today.

I hope you both are felling better. I wasn’t feeling 100% today either….in my case I think it was a bit of indigestion. After waking up at 4am, I tossed and turned for a few hours with my stomach telling me that I ate too much. I had a big glass of ginger ale when I got up and finally had a coffee around 10 am. Feeling much better tonight.
I had to go thru our trash today as my wife noticed that she had lost her gold bracelet at some point between Saturday afternoon and last night. Then this afternoon, I noticed a large puddle of water under our washing machine. I found that it was dripping from the water inlet so I grabbed a new washer and some Teflon thread tape and made the repair.

I wish I could say the rest of my day went well, but somebody really screwed the pooch. I got my order for my emergency pain meds in to the pharmacy at noon, and they called, verified my new address that I moved to a year ago, and said they'd deliver them within the hour. I don't normally use their delivery service, but by the time they called me, I'd been without painkillers long enough that I really didn't want to drive. I finally got a phone call about 5:30 PM from the new resident of my old suite in Maple Bay. Somebody had just delivered the meds there and dropped them outside the door when there was no one home. I really didn't feel well enough, but I had to agree to drive five miles to Maple Bay to pick up the prescription or I'd have been without pain meds till at least tomorrow morning. At this point I feel like hell but unfortunately, this all happened too late for me to cancel my clinic appointment at opening tomorrow and I can't reach the guy who invited me to lunch tomorrow, so I guess I've got to go out again a second time tomorrow whether I want to or not. This day's turned into a gong show.

Nope….I got her to phone the 3 places that we visited on Saturday in case someone found it and turned it in. She’s just beside herself as it’s an expensive 18K gold bracelet. This is the 2nd time she’s lost a bracelet….luckily, last year when she lost a different one, someone turned it into the lost and found. We’re hoping this happens in this case.

An old buddy of mine is coming over this afternoon and we are going to do some acoustic jamming. I played in a band with him about 25 years ago and I also did some backup vocals on a couple of albums that he recorded. I caught up with him last summer when he and two other friends of mine were entertaining the residents at the nursing home behind my house. Stew has a very distinctive voice and I immediately knew it was him, so I told my wife that I have to go over to see them. We tried to set up a get together later in the year but lockdowns and such prevented us from doing so. Then on the weekend, he texted me to see if I was still interested. So, last night I set up my Bose L1, a mixer and some mics and we’re gonna have a little fun.

I got my bi-weekly injection at the clinic this morning, so Now I'm home and have a couple of hours to relax. My buddy that I helped out with his RV problem has offered to treat me to lunch today, so I'll be heading back downtown at noon. Looking forward to this....I haven't been to this restaurant yet, and I get to go out for a meal so infrequently that it's a real treat.

It was just impossible to arrange that with my son's school schedule so I had to turn down several gigs.

I spent part of this morning unhooking my bass rig and pulling out the Ampeg PortaFlex cabinet in preparation for tomorrow's equipment trade.

I had a burger, which was a hell of a lot classier than anything I manufacture at home. What I found a little strange was it was served on a piece of wood - looked like a 1' x 6" about a foot long. I remarked to my buddy that I'd never had lunch served on a piece of lumber ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) But it was really, really tasty. Food like that makes me acutely aware of the low-brow quality of meals I make at home. I'm really enjoying my buddy moving back to town too. We share a lot of the same experiences and friends from back in the 70's and 80's, a common interest in high-end audio, and background in electronics (he's retired from the inter-connect industry and was one of the pioneers in Telus's entry into fiber-optic television), so it's really enjoyable. He's also a musician, an exceptional piano player, and I wish I could get him more interested in playing rock and roll.

Well the day ended a lot better than it started. This morning there was still tension with my son from Sunday night but after he got home from college we really talked through some things and it feels a lot better with an actual resolution

I went to one restaurant that served the meal on a 12 x 12 inch ceramic tile. There’s a restaurant that we like up in your old neck of the woods (Thorold) and they’ve got a Caesar called “The Whole Shebang” that comes with skewers of shrimp, a meatball, slider, calamari and other things. It’s a meal with your drink. See photo ![](//storage.proboards.com/6378980/thumbnailer/NgzGvWUsHiZYjfBelIaP.png) i hope you and your buddy can get together and play some tunes together.

One place served a burger that must have been about 6-8 inches tall between the buns, packed with meat and various salads with a skewer holding them together. When you took the skewer out, it fell all over the wood platter which also had a 'portion' (6) of chips (fries for you colonials).
I asked the waiter if I could please have a plate and that's what I do if any place does the same

Holy cow- that picture looks amazing!!! There is a Barbecue place near us that serves on steel trash can lids- we make it a point to take any European visitors there because they are always blown away by the trash cans (and the food is good too!)
