Yeah, that's for sure. Still hopefully she's having a good day and is happy for the visit, even if she doesn't know who you are It’s really funny that you said that. Her daughter came with us and while we were there, she was very talkative (although incoherent) and was constantly smiling at us. When we left, her daughter said that she couldn’t believe how happy she appeared today. She hardly ever talks anymore and rarely smiles but today, she seemed to be in a great mood! It was almost like she knew who we were….even though our faces were covered from the eyeballs to our chins! Turned out to be a nice visit. That's really good you got to see her like that. We were fortunate when my grandmother was in nursing because when we visited her she also didn't know who we were but she was at least happy when we saw her. Now my wife's grandmother was another story- she went non-verbal several years before she died and the time we visited her she obviously didn't want us there, which was very upsetting to my wife and her mother.

Taking my Tucson in for 50K km service this morning. This afternoon, I should finish up regripping my golf clubs as it’ll be mild. I removed the old grips last night while watching TV.
edit: done and done. I had to put a heater in the garage as it was still pretty chilly out there. Now I’m enjoy a hot cup off coffee so I can warm up.

We are having a 30th birthday party for our daughter on Sunday and so my wife asked me to pick up some things at Costco this morning. I may also take a trip out to Burlington to check out a new Napoleon BBQ at Canadian Tire. My current Napoleon is almost 15 years old but is starting to show its age. We sometimes BBQ 3 times a week in the summer and at least once or sometimes twice a week between December and March so we use it quite a lot. We’ve learned from friends and relatives that the cheaper BBQs don’t last.

Spent the whole morning and part of the afternoon prepping my boss for a huge meeting. We're done now and he's good to go so I have a feeling that the rest of the day will be quieter. Although there is a non-profit meeting late afternoon (groan)

A quiet day today. I spent some time online educating myself in preparation for tomorrow's project. I'm going to try to help a friend repair his RV furnace, which will be interesting.

Find out whose unit he has in his RV. The main RV HVAC suppliers are Norcold, Dometic/Duo-therm and Carrier. We used to design and build the thermostats and HVAC control units for Dometic/Duotherm and I may still have a few contacts there if you need some info for one of their units Good luck.

It was kind a blur--later in the day anyway--I think I was mostly awake earlier--but like I said--it's been a blur...

If no one stops this asshole, he’s gonna mow his way into every former Soviet country and claim them all back.

If no one stops this asshole, he’s gonna mow his way into every former Soviet country and claim them all back. This could have been headed off at the pass a long time ago. Can’t expect someone who can’t even complete a coherent sentence to get the job done. The whole thing is very sad, I hoping our mid-term elections will go well and we’ll have some damage control for the rest of this administrations tenure. I have to stop there, this should be batted around on the other side.

Certainly the post wasn't meant to be political from my side but if it belongs "over there" so be it!

Certainly the post wasn't meant to be political from my side but if it belongs "over there" so be it! I did open a thread regarding the Ukraine "On the other side". I figure if this news affects your day then it's ok to put it here. If you want to be a little more opinionated on the topic of invasion then plunk your thoughts over there.

Went down to the Polish store tonight to pick up some euro goodies that we can't easily get elsewhere. I love going to that shop!

My son has been on a trip for college since Wednesday- the house is SO QUIET now. Last night at 17h, he was away, my oldest daughter was still at work and my youngest daughter had just gone to work and it was really weird sitting on the couch with nothing to do, nowhere to be. Almost eerie.

Waiting for the snow to stop before I go out to clean it all. This morning, my wife and I are going to do a top to bottom cleaning of the house as we are having a 30th birthday party for our daughter on Sunday and we’ve invited my wife’s side of the family (12 in total) over for dinner to celebrate. We may do something next week with my side of the family. Then again, maybe not as my one nephews wife is still afraid of Covid, and my other nephews wife hasn’t been vaxed. It just creates a big clusterf*ck headache to get everyone together indoors.

Stuff is afoot at work- I can feel the tension building...
But my daughter had some good news today- after only 8 months on the job she has been promoted at work- she's killing it!

Are you thinking layoffs? Or financial market problems? I checked on my Retirement Savings plan and it’s taken a fairly big hit. A lot of it is in mutual funds and I’m a fairly conservative investor. This sh!t is making me nervous.

A reorganization, layoffs, both? I'm not particularly worried for myself, but my intuition is screaming now. If you are a fairly conservative investor you are probably fine. Just make sure your investments match your tolerance for risk. We're in for choppy markets for sure so I definitely would not make risky trades.

I figure I’ve lost about 10% over the last few months….most of it in the last month or so. Ya, I always felt something in the air just before they would lay off people. When they made the announcement that they were shutting us down, it was weird as I saw a couple of new faces looking for the entrance to our building. I told my buddy that they were probably from head office, there to make some cuts! 😂🤣😂🤣. An hour later I got called to the board room and was given my package! 😵💫

Although you certainly recouped some of those losses yesterday. Yeah there is something oppressive in the air when cuts or reorgs are coming- it is a normal time of year for it too

Not a good day for me. I have a stiff neck....a bad one....and have been in complete misery since about 3:00 AM. I've tried using Voltaren which normally works fairly well, but it's not touching whatever's wrong here. I'm reluctant to go to hospital Emergency if I can avoid it - My experience in the past leads me to believe that if you're not sick when you get there, you will be by the time you leave. I'll try to just bear with this for a few hours but might eventually have to give in and go there. This is a lot more severe than the worst pain I had from my whiplash injury many years ago.

Try heading pads- they usually work for me when my neck freezes up
