So what have any of you been doing?
I know some people are cutting themselves (& a couple of guys who pretty much just shave it off any way (What little they have).
Some are having spouses or others int he house cut it (If they have the skills I guess)
And some I know rushed out once restrictions were lifted--(They're back in place though)
Me--I haven't had a hair cut for about a year (or more) I'm not sure what day I last got a hair cut.
I was going to get one before things shut down in March & so I've been letting it grow--and I love it.
Anybody else?

I went almost 7 months without a haircut. Even after the shops opened back up it took me a while to get one. Appointment only, sit in the parking lot until they call you in. I was looking pretty rough.

Yes--when they opened back up--there wa s await for the most part--and no walk ins.
I held off to see how things went--and they closed them down again.
But I had long hair growing up--it wasn't always popular.
In high school some people would joke about my hair, but I would joke back And if someone didn't know my name--they still knew me by site--teh guy with the hair.
I didn't have the longest hair int he school, but I possibly had the widest.
Some teachers didn't know what to do with me, etc.
After high school it stayed long, but over the years gradually shortened so that when I went to get a haircut my hair was shorter than it was after a haircut in high school.
I feel young now. My hair was longer in high school (I went about 4-6 months between haircuts--but since I get it cut short now--it still isn't at it's longest ever after a year or so.)
It's great--I can brush it all in my face & with sunglasses & a mask--you wouldn't be able to see my face.

I sported short hair in high school. Didn’t grow long hair until I got out of the military and started up with bands. It was long for many years. Male pattern baldness put an end to that.

Hey--it's cool--we all have different types of hair & shapes faces & heads--so short hair or long hair won't work for everybody I know guys who can really pull off long hair-and some that look ridiculous with it--but short hair suits them. Your job or vocation, etc also will affect that--such as the military.

When they shutdown back in March, my son picked up a hair clipper set at Costco. I think he gave me 2 haircuts over the next 3 or 4 months. Once they lifted the shutdown, I couldnt get an appointment with my barber for a few weeks so I just went to one of those haircutting chains for one of their crappy cuts. However, my son and I started going back to our regular barber a few months ago and we've been happy to get a couple of decent cuts since. But two weeks ago, when my son was trying to make an appointment for before Christmas, he was told that the pending lockdown wouldn't let him book. So I cut his hair for him.
My wife had an appointment booked for the day that the lockdown began and so she got a call from her hairdresser to go a day earlier and she would fit her in. I looked at my hair this morning and I could sure use a cut but I may wait till the new year.

Part of me is thinking I'll wait until the pandemic is over.
I probably won't, but I will not let just anybody cut my hair.
It's not normal hair--and if you don't know what you're doing it will be a horrible haircut.
(Yes it grows out--but I'm okay with long hair)
part of me wants to go to the same hairdresser I've gone to for years & see what sort o reaction I get.

I just got mine cut this past Monday. being an old "hippie" at heart, getting a haircut on a regular basis is not a priority for me. however, as soon as was possible, I did get one. so, I've had a couple of haircuts since things opened back up.

I have trimmed my beard several times as I don't like it too shaggy-although that can be nice in winter. But trimming my beard is a lot easier than cutting my hair.

As I've gotten older, my haircuts have gradually resulted in me having shorter hair. Because I've had a fractured skull, I've never adopted the really short cuts that became more acceptable in modern times because they showed my scars. I cut my own hair for quite a few years and got fairly good at it, but had to stop after a bad whiplash from a car accident and torn rotator cuffs in both shoulders made it hard for me to lift my arms high enough to do it proficiently. I've been trying go to the same stylists for prolonged periods of time once they learned how to cut my hair well....Probably had three stylists in the last twenty years. When the pandemic made it tough to get haircuts, I reverted to doing it myself for many months. I was planning to buy a large three-way mirror (a necessity!) and doing it myself again over the long term when the landlord announced that he was selling the house. I wasn't going to spend a couple of hundred dollars for a mirror that I'd have to abandon and leave behind for the new homeowner, so I haven't had my hair cut for five months and it's really needing it again. I'll probably let it go as long as possible again hoping that personal services like haircuts become acceptable as the pandemic problems diminish. My hair's starting to thin, so it looks bad if it gets overly long now, and I hope life normalizes fairly quickly.

I've torn a rotator cuff--it was painful--and affected a number of things--that & some other shoulder injuries & issues have also affected my taste in guitar sizes, and I can see who that would be an issue for cutting your own hair.
(Where I do go, when I get a cut --she jokes that to cut my hair requires some work out first to hold her arms so high for so long. I have thick hair--and lots of it--even when it's short)
But I get the issues with thin hair & length--I know others who deal with that.

My hair seems to have disappeared on top over the years. I stopped going to the barbers a couple of years ago. All I seemed to be spending money on was for them to tidy up the back.
So I bought a little clipper and now do it myself, the best I can. I'm sure it looks lop sided but who cares? I certainly don't
Our other guitarist, has a full head of hair which is unnaturally black. He denies using any tint, but I'm sure he does. I also have a friend drummer who wears a wig.
I would just accept what age brings you.

I used to really enjoy going to the barber but since I basically get a straight buzz cut, I started having my wife do it at home. So switching to pandemic mode wasn't much of a transition except I bought a new clipper set since the other one was starting to wear out. My hair is curly when I let it go, but I find that very itchy so I generally keep it very short.
That said, my son won't let my wife touch his hair- I wish he would, as it now looks pretty bad

I would just accept what age brings you. I agree Although with a full head of hair that’s easy to say But if I ever do go bald I will embrace that- no transplants & no toupee & no combover

I never even dyed my hair and probably never will. And with a toupee you get "herpes on head" (Cheech and Chong reference)

But trimming my beard is a lot easier than cutting my hair. when I broke my leg last year(July 4th, 2019), I let my beard grow. I wasn't about to stand in front of a mirror on a broken leg to shave. of course, my wife and a lot of other people were wanting me to shave it off. I let it grow until the end of October. we went down to my mom's to see her before she passed away. so, I shaved it off. it took me about 2 hours to shave that thing off. the longest I go now without shaving is two to three days. although, if you're wearing a mask, no one can tell if you need to shave or not.

............... although, if you're wearing a mask, no one can tell if you need to shave or not. I have read, in the local Facebook page on Covid, that beards are not recommended because it affects how well masks fit. I also have a beard, about a year old, that I trim periodically. Because I take TRT shots biweekly, I have the complexion problems that most of us experienced in high school. It makes shaving pretty tough.

Back in March when I started working from home, I stopped shaving for about 3 weeks and just let my beard grow. I hadn’t grown a beard for almost 30 years and so I knew it was gonna be pretty grey like my goatee but I didn’t think it would make me look so much older and “chubbier”!!! LOL! I posted a pic of me with a beard on Facebook and asked my friends if I should keep it or shave it off.....almost everyone said to shave it off.. here’s a before and after pic.

My wife was going gray before 30. She said that her dads hair was white for as long as she can remember. She has to go to the hairdresser every 3 to 4 weeks for colour. I told her that this would have been a perfect time to just let the colour grow out and just go grey/white since we haven’t been doing much visiting or seeing people. But many women are too vain to do this. Myself, I don’t care. I’ve got a receding hairline and my hair is thinning on my crown...doesn’t bug me.

At least most of us do. In fact it’s the initial 2 weeks, when the hair starts curling back towards the skin. Facial hair is much stiffer and thicker and therefore, the ends start digging in causing the itch. After about a week or so of itch, either you get used to it or it becomes long enough that it’s not as stiff. That’s the way I see it. When I shaved mine off this spring, I had just gotten past the itch stage.

I had a full beard when both my kids were first born. When we would get up for the night feedings, we’d keep the lights off so as not to wake them fully. It seemed that they always wanted to know who was feeding them as while they were being fed, they would reach up to feel our faces....smooth meant mom, furry meant dad.
