I could see myself liking to work at Home Depot in retirement, but the concrete floors would be murder on my knees. But I've got quite a few years before I can retire anyway yep, the concrete floors are murder. since you haven't heard the story, I was working on July 4th, 2019. everything was going ok until I turned to go help someone with a problem at a cash register just behind me. my right foot got caught in the fatigue mat on the floor by the register. down I went. I broke my right femur. the ambulance took me to the VA Hospital. I now have a rod and 4 screws in my leg. so, after a hernia repair and the broken leg, I'm finally back to work. so, yes those concrete floors are murder. Ugh that's awful about the fall, but at least you are back in action now

Right now I am watching a nature documentary on PBS and drinking a glass of wine with some NY extra sharp cheddar. Ah the simple pleasures....

We miss being able to drop down to Buffalo or Niagara Falls for dinner and or shopping. We like the Yancys Fancy cheeses after having some in the finger lakes while doing some wine tasting. Once this COVID shit is done, we’re coming down for a few days.

Just spent some time wailing on a couple of electrics & a 12 string. And I'm giving my ears a break--on my way back soon to play some more.

I guess I wasn't actually wailing on the acoustic 12--but I was strumming it vigorously at times.

But of course that wasn't going to happen either

I need to give my ears a break again, and if I go back to playing tonight it will be solid body & unplugged or headphones. But I did remember to refill my case humidifiers.

Well, I am up later than I planned--btu I've been listening to some cool music--so I keep thinking one more song. Well I am on the last one now--and off to bed for me.

Today is my last day at work before being off for the rest of the year. Although I did offer my boss that if he needs me tomorrow I can be available

Made a big pot of beef barley soup today- can't wait for dinner! I find barley is a great addition to just about any soup or stew. I especially like it in stew. Now I'm hungry.

Seeing as I couldn’t get a hold of anyone at Cuisinart regarding the 3 yr warranty on my year old coffeemaker, I went out and bought a new Keurig Supreme machine. My wife and I love our coffee as we’ve both been drinking it since before the age of 10...it’s an Italian thing! Anyway, this is one of Keurig latest models...sleek, small, big reservoir but best of all, damn awesome coffee!! They changed the head to pierce 5 holes into the top of the Kcups and inject the water through all the coffee grounds compared to one injector on the old machine. Result is that the coffee is stronger and tastier. So now if Cuisinart sends me a new machine, I’ll either keep it as a spare or give it to my son because the coffee from his drip coffeemaker tastes terrible.

I've always stuck to drip coffee makers because of the convenience and the fact that it was a predictable way to make coffee, which I drink gallons of. I can't seem to develop any interest in the Keurig's and other pod-style coffee makers, but I have an increasing interest in getting a French press. The best coffee I've ever tasted was at a friend's house...He's a consumer of top grade coffee beans that he grinds and processes in a French press. If I ever look at upgrading my coffee habit, that's probably the way I'll go.

Sometimes I wish I could get into coffee but I just can't. In my whole life I have had less than 6 cups of coffee total- less than some people have in a day
