I kick myself every time I think about it but years ago before he passed, my wife’s uncle offered me his mid-70s Traynor Reverb Master (?). It was a single channel EL34 tube head with control setup like a Pro Reverb. The thing weighed a ton and he was also giving me a big homemade 2-12 speaker cabinet with some Emminence speakers. The thing sounded great but it was a huge setup. So I passed on it. OUCH!...sorry, I just kicked myself.
Anyway, he sold it all and decided to buy a Peavey PA system as he started to DJ at some Italian Club dinner dances. When he passed, his wife told me that he wanted me to have the PA as I could use it in my band. When I went to pick it up it was immaculate! A US made Peavey powered mixer with 2 PR12 speakers and stands. Not a scratch on them. It’s the system we currently use in our band.
Getting back to Traynor, our bass player is still using a ‘75 Traynor Monoblock II with a 15” bottom. Original speaker cab was a 2-15 but he brought it to a guy who made him 2 ported single 15 cabs. The thing is almost close to 400W but the head weighs as much as my Deluxe Reverb. The faceplate on it is 1/4 aluminum. Rumour has it that Pete Traynor tested his first few amps for ruggedness by dropping them off the loading dock!

I have to agree. dB's comment about how American made Peavey products will be treasured once people see how they measure up against off-shore product is valid. Another thing I'm starting to see is that older Traynor products are starting to be held in some reverence. The common view seems to be that the older stuff is built like tanks and stand up well to the abuse of weekend warriors really well. And, really, they're pretty good sounding too. It gives me a bit of pride to see a Canadian product that is starting acquire the kind of status bestowed on older Fenders. It's funny because people trash the Classic 30 all the time but the amp is compact, quite solid and pretty loud. I wish mine had a standby switch (the newer ones do) but the tube cage is actually very good for when you are gigging with a lot of equipment. It sounds good when you remove the stock speaker, a Blue Marvel, which I think few people liked. Like I said, wait 10 years and time will tell! Traynors are out there but I very seldom see them come up used around here. I don't know anyone in the US with one, but I am sure they have a following.

Well my son was over last night and he picked up his little tweed Fender Bronco amp. Nice little amp. He’s always liked my little Silverface Champ so I told him to take it too as I rarely use it and it needs to get played. I also gave him a little Boss pedal board with a distortion, flanger and reverb pedal as well as some new cables. He’s turning his spare room into an office / music room. He’s a grade 6 teacher and due to Covid and lockdowns, he’s been teaching online from his kitchen table. He decided that an office would look a bit more professional. I told him to hang his guitars on the wall behind him as everyone I see in WebEx or Zoom calls on TV always seem to have a guitar in the shot.

The way my office is set up doesn't leave many options: basicallya window in the background that washes out the video ar 2:00 every day from sun

One of the few benefits of moving is that there's enough room to take pictures and actually see stuff properly. This doesn't look as impressive though, when I realize how much my equipment has shrunk since I changed cabinets. i.vgy.me/nXTzCK.jpg

This doesn't look as impressive though, when I realize how much my equipment has shrunk since I changed cabinets. i.vgy.me/nXTzCK.jpgNice picture--some cool stuff. In my case my amp shrunk due to mostly using an Orange Micro Dark--which is a 1.8 pound amp head. And size wise=6.50 X 5.31 X 3.74″ I wish I had some better space to take pictures. Back in September on a nice day I took a coupe of guitars to the back to take some outside pictures. So next summer I may do more of that. Glad to see some benefits of the new place.
