We have one acoustic song on our album called 'Into the Light'. Unfortunately playing the song at gigs has always been a bit problematic. I normally take 2-3 guitars to gigs, not just in case I break a string, but also for variety.
But playing this song acoustically would mean us taking 3 acoustics in addition to our electrics. Then you have to stop and change instruments etc. It was never practical, so we decided we would have a go playing it full electric.
Only thing for me that spoiled this video was the blooming bloke on the right playing or trying to play the sax. We only had him in the band for a while as he did play trumpet with us in the 60s. He can't really play sax, but I suppose he tried. Shame I can't really remove his playing as recording was just made by a bloke with a camera out front.

good song, John. do you have a recording of it being played acoustically ? This is the album version accompanying old pics. If you have speakers connected properly, I'm coming out the right side. If not I'm playing the arpeggios and the solo bits
This was the first run through in the studio. We did another take, before singer added his 'proper' vocals, I put a one string electric slide in the choruses and the sax solo was added. Notice the acoustics were not plugged in, the engineer just mic'ed them up. The acoustic the singer is playing belongs to the Manics. I can't remember if it was a Gibson or Epiphone, but certainly old
This is one of the gigs we played it acoustically, well apart from me. The singer is using my Taylor, so I had to use my old SIII. We did it a bit slower than the album track. Forgive my shirt.
