have any of you ever played one ? have you ever heard of them ?
when I was stationed in Germany from '71 - '74, I was without a guitar. so, I went to the Post Exchange(PX) and bought one of what they had. I had never heard of Framus. I sure was surprised. it's one of the best playing guitars that I've ever bought.
Framus guitars were made in the heart of Bavaria. nowadays, Framus is making electric guitars. I'm not sure if they are still making acoustic guitars or not. anyway, if you get the chance to play one, try it. you may be surprised.

There was a Framus booth at the guitar show I attended last November. Did not take much of a look as I was focused on taking pics of classic guitars. I should post a link to the photo album I have on Imgur.

when i was stationed in Germany, Framus was pretty strong. nowadays, they are only making electric guitars and Warwick is making their bass guitars.

I was stationed in the Nuremberg in 81-82. Back then you could buy a les Paul standard from the PX in Furth for penny's. I can’t remember, I’m wanting to say 6-700 bucks.

Yes I have heard of Framus. They recycleeverything at their factory and are pretty much off the grid.

I had no room in the barracks for an amp or electric guitar for that matter.

research shows that the company was started in 1946 and went bankrupt in 1975. in 1995 warwick started making bass guitars in the Framus name.
