first one was at a local pub, Beer festival, boiling hot weather. We played for 2 hours with a 15 minute break. Set list worked and we had some people singing along. We got invited back and also the landlord owns another pub in a village a bit further away so got invited to play there too! Next we we played our own little summer festival, two venues, our practice hut and a marquee. First set in the hut to kick off the afternoon then we moved to the marquee as second band in there. I did notice that in the marquee, the 10" speaker of my Peavey studio pro 110 sounded a bit boxed. Anyway we finished our set so I could drink a few beers and helped the 6 other bands sound check and looked after the mix during their sets. All good fun. Finally we we did our bass player's 25th wedding anniversary. He borrowed the marquee and I experimented by disconnecting my amps speaker and jury rigging it to a 2x12. Worked well. I decided that this needed to be a permanent option, so I fed the speaker wires back up into the chassis, drilled a hole for a 1/4" jack in the back panel then made a new wire from the speaker with a 1/4" right angled jack so that I can either use the internal speaker as originally intended or I can plug in a 8ohm cab. One thing I noticed was that the bass had greatly increased so now I have that dialled back to zero, but those v30's are pretty good.

Oh man, I've played a few in the heat. Played on a flatbed once in the middle of the Georgia summer, no shade, just miserable. Sweat rolling into my eyes was the biggest problem. Anyhow, thanks for the cool pic, glad the gigs worked out well for ya. Awesome score getting the gig at the guys pub.

In this case it was the landlady of our "local" who want's us back and her daughter who is running a different pub wants us too. In addition the bass players brother wants us to do his wedding in July next year. Busy bees!

My experience was a little different. We were playing for the grand opening of a new Harley Davidson dealer in some town in northern Georgia They had this flatbed parked out back in an empty lot facing the woods which blocked any chance of a breeze. There was no overhead cover and it was over 90 degrees. They had a keg of beer back there and the ones that came back to listen grabbed a beer and hung out along the woodline where the shade was. To make things worse there were to stinking port-a-pottys right next to the trailer and the mosquitoes were horrible. Yep, a little diffferent.
