Yesterday I picked up a used Traynor Guitarmate YGL1 Reissue to replace the YGM3 Reissue that was simply too loud for my needs. Despite being used, the thing looks like it just came out of the box. I am not even sure the Greenback speaker in it is even broken in yet. And considering that I got it for just over $300 less than it would have cost new, it is a great deal. For those who aren't familiar with them, these are 1x12 15 watt amps with a master volume so they are much easier to control than some other amps. Like the Traynor Dark Horse, this amp gives you the ability to flick a switch that moves the placement of the tone stack in relation to the gain stages. It offers the choice of USA (very reminiscent of Blackface Fenders like the Princeton and Deluxe Reverb), Brit (a Vox/Marshall type setting), and Pure (this removes the tone stack completely and is very much like an 18 watt Marshall but with a master volume control). Unlike the Dark Horse, this amp uses EL84 tubes and, to my mind, is a better amp than the Dark Horse (which I also like). This is a very versatile amp that covers a wide range of tones and can be loud for 15 watts if you need it to be. It also has built in reverb. The reverb is digital, rather than spring, but still sounds very good...basically the same as a high end reverb pedal would. The amp also comes with an effects loop. My cell phone camera is crap but, because of the pics or it didn't happen rule, here is a quick photo of it:

El84s are my favorite power tubes. And 15 watts is just right. Loud enough, but not so loud that the power tubes are never really pushed.

The beauty thing is that if I decide I want it to be a bit cleaner at low volumes all I have to do is to put some lower gain preamp tubes in there and I am golden.

I still like a boost in front of a tube preamp to make it stank a bit at low levels...

Not a great demo, but I know the guy doing it so figured I would include it:
And here is Canadian icon Kim Mitchell (from Max Webster and his solo band) demoing the same amp:
They also make a 30 watt YGL2, which is an excellent amp, but they are both loud for their wattages so the YGL1 made more sense for me (plus it has the 'pure' mode that I am really liking). If I gigged I would have been all over the 30 watter.
