I went out last week and bought two beautiful pine slabs, 1' x 12" x 4' for that cabinet build I'll be doing. The poplar they had at the time was awful, very curvy and poorly-cured. I'll be getting me a jigsaw later this week and starting to work on it Thursday.

how come it's all out of pine? My guy said he'd want to use "good wood" to make my cab sound right...?

"Good wood" could simply mean 'void free' or 'not plywood'. If he means hardwood it's not necessary tonally. Composite is acoustically dead but very heavy and if it chips, breaks or gets wet (!) almost irrepairable. Void free birch plywood is good because it's light and resonant. Pine also for those reasons. Hardwoods would be nice acoustically but pricey and I don't know that in a club situation make that much difference tone wise. I have an old hard rock maple open back cab with a late '50s Jensen p12n in it that sounds divine. In a studio.

When I went a couple of weeks ago, there was some good poplar, at least pleasing to the eye -- not greened out or anything -- but this last visit, the non-green board were so out of true it wasn't funny.
Anyway, don't want to threadjack, but I'll start a build thread when I get to work on it.

We don't have a proper lumber yard out here. Except for the small cuts i got, everything is construction-grade.

What are you planning for the baffle as far as material?

What are you planning for the baffle as far as material? Plywood. I have a 4'x8' sheet that will provide baffles for both cabs I'm planning. The first cab will be tried and true straightforward design, convertible closed/open back. The second I will build as an experiment to see if I can get better sound dispersion. If it works I'll gladly share plans.

If you're still looking for a matching speaker, I actually just changed out the speaker in our church's HRD for a WGS Reaper HP, and I have the old Eminence speaker in my garage. I'd have to run it by the old man, but I could probably sell it to you. The date on the PCB inside the amp said 1996, if I recall. It's first generation. Are you in the US?

Nope, I'm in canada, and secondly, Darren just ordered that speaker as i mentioned and is building it for 125$ so it would be kinda shitty of me to order something different at this point. sorry
