Just noticed an ES for sale or trade at GC...and I have a model of Acoustic that`s on his radar for trade.
can`t say that my playing warrants an ES, but i`ve always wanted one
...must stay away from GC for now.

Make sure that you really want one before making the plunge. I thought that I did. When I finally got one (335ish), I barely touched it and grew tired of it. Great guitar, I just didn't bond with that style. Maybe rent one for a week/month? Ibanez AS120

That Ibanez would make me smile like I was bringing home a new puppy.
An AS120 or a Yamaha SA2200 would be a more sensible choice for me. I`ve never had a semi-hollow body in my hands, but love the tone. I gotta try one sooner than later. Gonna give my thumb a few weeks to make sure it`s okay then I may go shopping.
i think the repetitive bluegrass things i do are a little harder on the hands than noodling blues on an electric, at least at my level...So that`s my excuse for a new electric.

I had a look...wicked sea foam green...and out of stock.
Would be weird buying a guitar from Amazon, but I`m book marking it anyways. Thanks for the heads up.

Yet I found the color a little overwhelming when I looked at Sinister`s link. It could be that all I`ve really seen are sunbursts, cherry and black in semi-hollow bodied guitars.
I had a momentary mental picture of pistachio ice cream when the page loaded.

So...now that I`m playing electric only, something with humbuckers is required. There are 2 single coil parts casters on my wall already.
Do we have any Epi fans here?
Would any of you forumites like to suggest a good Epi LP? I understand that they made some really good limited runs during certain years?
If I went with a T-style with buckers, would it sound alot different than an Epi LP with the same pups?

I'd go for a PRS SE. Better bang for the buck, IMO.

Thinking of building a Kingfish Tele copy...
Waiting on a body price from Nathan...
Just got a neck estimate...probably buy a Kingfish tele off the rack cheaper than a build, but hey, where`s the fun in that?

Anyhow, a tele is a guitar I wouldn’t mind having.

Anyhow, a tele is a guitar I wouldn’t mind having. I bought an unfinished body and neck a couple of years ago and put a t-style together. I was happy with how it turned out. Sure learned alot regarding finishing. Playing around with the idea of doing another. Got 2 quotes for a torrified flame maple neck with a rosewood fretboard....same money as buying a new American Standard Fender neck with a rosewoood board, @ around $1000.00CAD. The tele neck I had made, for the first build, has a 12" radius which I`m fond of. Other option... just buy a used American Standard neck with a rosewood board, and learn to love a 9.5" radius. The custom neck would be much nicer however, with plunge routed frets, clay dots and a satin oil finish. Super fast and not sticky at all. It`s ceratainly true that I could buy a Deluxe Tele cheaper than I can build a quality example of same. Here is a pic of my first one covered in dirt no less.

Dayum!!!! That's is a good looking Tele.. Thanks....I was both surprised and delighted with how it turned out... Alot of profanity used during the staining stage....the rest was enjoyable to do. I used nickle hardware, vintage Kluson tuners and Lindy Fralin pups...sounds better than I deserve. I wish one of you dudes lived closer, so i could hand it to you for an opinion. I`m the only one who`s ever played or heard the thing.

I have to stay off a lot of the Guitar e-tailer sites because I have a feeling will come out of guitar buying retirement.

Guy on Kijiji asking $1400 for a Strat "special" HSS.
I offered him $1200. He got mad didn`t even reply...lol.
Not my dream strat, so not disappointed. Made an offer as it was only 20 minutes from where I live, and that`s uncommon.

Made an offer as it was only 20 minutes from where I live, and that`s uncommon. People think their shit is worth more than reality worth. That is for sure, and like anyone I can just go to Reverb etc., and look at other offers to see what the market value is...which I did. I saw the same model for $1100.00 on Reverb. The kicker is that the guy I made the offer to didn`t know that I had met him before. The day I met him, he impressed me as a whiny progressive little prick with a stick up his ass, and he was disrespectful to his father in my presence....So I figured he would be unmoveable in his price, and I wasn`t wrong about that...lol. I may offer him his asking price in the future if I have a weak moment and it`s still available, as it`s almost unheard of to see a decent guitar for sale within 50 miles of where I live. I`m always shipping or driving 4-8 hours it seems, and that costs money too.

Give him your same offer, stating that it hasn't moved at his asking price. You never know.

That`s a good suggestion, but this fucker has no sense of humour from what I could tell.
I`m a lettin` it sit for a week.
He`s in the middle of nowhere and he`ll be pissy about shipping. His attitude might bring things my way if my timing is spot on.
The other option is to stop off at his shop and wave $1200 or $1300 under his nose.
I`ll let you guys know if I have another go at this guy for entertainment purposes and conversation.

So many different Fender Strat model issues, aspecially the FSR runs...
One would have to be obsessed to keep track of the market value for each model.
I`m having a hard time making an offer on one I actually want, out of fear of over-paying, or pissing the guy off due to a lowball ignorant offer.
As per usual, I`m looking at 8 hours of driving to have it in hand, or ship.
It`s great living in the boonies, that is until one tries to purchase a guitar in a private sale.
