I have been waiting my first Schecter guitar six months. Now when the delivery date is next week - I got an email from Europe's biggest dealer, that the delivery date is postponed to February 2023. So about a year more time to wait. I didn't know, that the Schecter company is so bad shape. Now when I tried to look information from the Schecter's Internet page, I find that the site has been down couple of days. I don't know what I should think about this... Maybe some higher force try to tell me something

I wonder what DJ Ashba think, if he know that his signature guitar is so hard to get. Fans don't get the product and no money moves pocket to another. Odd business.

Brent, if I search this guitar model, there is only one other place in Europe. And that's in France. I can also try to order from Indonesia or directly from Schecter (U.S.A.). But that cost me, because of customs, delivery, VAT etc. about 500 euros more. I just sent email to Schecter's International Sales Manager, if I can anyhow to speed up this process. Or get the reason why this is taking so long.

that's a great idea. much better than mine, tbh. I thought it so, that the problem can't be on Schecter's side. They would gladly sell me their products - selling the first product with a good buying experience is important, hopefully I'm happy and they can sell more to me in the future. Although, there could be lack of components or resources, but I haven't heard any of that. I have heard, that because there aren't any gigs (artists & bands) - that's why there are plenty of guitars to buy in the market. So the problem must be here in Europe. Either distributor or the dealer. My plan is, that I put email to Schecter that they know this kind of problem. So they can put pressure and ask "why you aren't selling our products?". We will see does my plan work or do I get some really good explanation why it takes so long. I have to tell, that I haven't wait any of my eleven guitars this long. And now I have at least one year ahead. However I might also do another decision, but lets hope that I don't have to do it (leave the brand alone).

UPDATE - I got email from Director of Schecter and from distributor in Europe. Guitar should be in my hands in 3-4 weeks. Now this is how brand solve their customer's challenges! Well done by Schecter, that they put European distributor and dealer to the ground.

Not to knock Schechter but it is hardly a boutique brand so making someone wait a year and a half will guarantee lost sales. Even most custom luthiers won't make you wait that long...

To me this case look like that the problem was either European distributor or dealer. I waited 3 months and got the message that there is one year delay. As soon as I put email to Schecter's "Director of International Sales", I got immediately email from European distributor, that "your guitar is arriving in 2 weeks". So it seems that my plan worked. Schecter put some pressure to distributor or dealer, so I will get my ordered guitar now. Why there goes 3 or 4 weeks?!? I reserved that one week could go for installing EVH D-tuna and inspecting that guitar is ok (it depends how busy the guitar tech is). And one week goes, when the guitar is shipped from Germany to Finland (I know this from my previous orders).

I have to add, that your guess(?) isn't far... I was really close to cancel my order. But now I'm glad I fought back. But how many cases there are, that customer cancel the order and go to look some other brand, that is easier to buy?

This ride has been HELL... I wait 10 months. But I FINALLY got my Schecter. The new tech, that I have never use are... Sustainiac, kill switch, Floyd rose and D-tuna. Guitar tech also installed a Tremol-no, because it didn't keep the tune otherwise and it is easier to me change the strings. Here are the pics I promised. P.S. I have removed those plastics and stickers.

Wow! What a looker! You went all out. I really love, love, love this combo - Sustainiac, Floyd Rose, D-tuna and kill switch. I haven't seen it on any other guitar. EVH guitar has everything else, but not Sustainiac, which to me is the main feature.

now that the honeymoon phase has passed, it would be nice to get an update. not just this guitar, but anytime someone posts an ngd thread. 99% of the time, everyone loves a guitar they just bought. after living with it for a while, the afterglow fades, and people are capable of being more realistic in their assesment.
