Picked up a cheap Squier Tele, real nice guitar, pickups suck! I want to keep the Tele sound, any replacement pickup suggestions?

If you want to keep it on the cheap side, look for used pups from a CV Tele that someone's upgraded. They sound good for what they are.

P-90s...
Sort of serious...
If I was completely joking I'd have said Seymour Duncan Invaders
but for an actual Tele style & sized pickups--I've never really looked into it.

Any of the big guys would work Seymour Duncan and DiMarzio. Guitar Fetish have some inexpensive pickups as well. I like their professional series because of they use fiber bobbins.
Look on other guitar forums for someone selling pickups.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about GFS pickups although they are basically cheap Asian made, probably in the same factory as the ones currently in your Squier. The non pros are the ones most likely installed in his Squier. The pros are most likely over seas as well, but they used rod magnets instead of the magnet glued to the bottom of non-magnetized rods.

I replaced a HB with a GF Dream 90 P-90 and I like it, problem with Guitar Fetish is the shipping to Canada is almost the same as the pickup!
I have been checking out the Tex Mex Fender and they may be what I am looking for.

I have been checking out the Tex Mex Fender and they may be what I am looking for. Ya, I bought a few things from them in the past and couldn’t believe the shipping costs. I usually try to find Canadian online stores now. Nextgen has lots of guitar and amp parts and they are located near Ottawa.

I don't by anything from GF since they moved to FL.. They use to be in MA and shipping cost wasn't so bad. They are horrible now.

I have not ordered anything yet, just spent my allowance on another Squier Strat and a big order of pots etc from Nextgen. I am not familiar with anything Suhr, what model are they? Suhr has always been well out of my pay grade and talent!

I have not ordered anything yet, just spent my allowance on another Squier Strat and a big order of pots etc from Nextgen. I am not familiar with anything Suhr, what model are they? Suhr has always been well out of my pay grade and talent! From what I understand, they came out of a Suhr Classic T, so whatever pickups would be found in one of those. I got them in a Squier Classic Vibe Custom that I bought. I didn't give a rat's ass about the pickups, I wanted the body as the base for a Partscaster build and knew I was ordering pickups from Craig at Vineham. Shit, for all I know they might be the pickups from a Classic Vibe Custom! They were taken out of the guitar when the Partscaster was put together and I haven't looked at them since. My Dad passed away just as that guitar was finished so I had other things on my mind at the time. I can take pictures of them and post them here to see if anyone can identify them.

Real sorry to hear of your Dad passing, understand why they weren’t important anymore. I am not sure one could go wrong with a Suhr product, let me know what you want for them? What pickups did you get from Craig?
