i think everyone knows at least one fun dummy, but probably more.
they aren't bad people per se, but they are people you know who you'd rather not spend time with because they don't bring anything to the table in terms of friendship.
example: i have "buddies" i've known all my life. they were great fun when i used to party all the time and not care about anything. but that hasn't been me for a long time now. they are still those people. i don't want them coming by because it wastes my time. i'm not going to party, i have things to do, but they want to hang out and party or just hang out. i don't really have anything in common anymore, with them. they don't have anything they care deeply about. they don't have any hobbies, or at least ones that interest me. their whole life is drinking and watching sports on tv, and talking about how they're someday going to do some cool thing they'll never actually do because it requires them to behave in a way that isn't focused solely on instant gratification.
how do i get rid of these people? i don't want to hurt their feelings, they never did anything to me. i changed, but they didn't.

Frankly I would simply distance myself from them by increasingly not being available. If they come by unannounced tell them you are just on your way out or that you are in the middle of something.
Or continually time box them. I do this with people all the time, telling them I only have 5 minutes to talk because X is happening. It isn't a lie because I can assure you that X will happen at the point I say it will.
I see friends like this as momentum driven. When you are always available they will always come by. If you are seldom available, they will eventually stop trying. This way you don't make them hate you but they will just think you aren't cool anymore.

Just talk about the things you`re involved in, without pause. Show little interest when they want to talk about pokemon, or their favorite brand of beer or strain of cannabis.
They`ll get the message that you`ve moved on, when there`s no common topic of communication.
Who knows, this may even goad them into doing a little self reflection, possibly helping them to realize that life is a gift, and that time is all we really have to experience our potential. The other option... wake up at 40 and realize you`re just an angry infant, sucking on a beer bottle and engaging in sports idolatry.

I probably did them in my 20s but not now, but I was never angry! 😆

Oh...not directed at you mate...just a coincidence.
For what it`s worth I had a period of non-productivity in my 20`s as well. Then I made a relatively big chunk of change in my late 20`s and went flyfishing for an entire year, but that wasn`t a waste of time in my book.
i remember times coming back home from a day on the river, and going to visit one of my friends who had spent the day at work. You know, young men with a new family and mortgage. They were tied in knots at times from adjusting to the responsibilities they had willingly saddled themselves with. Learning to be men I would say. It`s not so easy sometimes is it?

I cut all of those people out of my life in my twenties. Come to think of it, those guys disappeared out of my life in my 20's too- mostly because I studied abroad for my MBA

Mud-covered ‘deceased female’ found by cops actually life-sized doll“The victim, now named Selena, is a little under the weather, but she has been having a nice day and is expected a make a full recovery,” the post stated. “In all seriousness, thank God for small blessings in that this just turned out to be a case of littering.”
“Her real name is Polly Urethane,” one chuckled.
