I wasn’t a big Meatloaf fan but I absolutely love his Bat Outta Hell album. What a great album to start a career. Such a powerful voice. In my old band, we had a female lead vocalist and myself and one of the songs that we worked on back then was Paradise by the Dashboard Light. Never got it good enough to perform but what a great song.
R.I.P. Meatloaf

Besides his bit in Rocky Horror, I enjoyed this when it came out.

his song, "two out of three ain't bad" came out about the time I was breaking up with someone. very prophetic.
anyway, his passing is kinda close to home. he was 74 and I'm 70. close.

Hearing Meatloaf tunes reminds me of the 70’s in a good way. He wasn’t really my cup of tea but he put out some great music in the beginning and became a legend. Watched some footage of one of his last concerts, I think it was in Australia, great stage show. R.I.P Meatloaf.

Didn't hear anything that would lead to this--but who knows. Neil Peart kept his cancer secret for quite a while. So it could be anything.
Condolences to his family & friends.

I was never a Meatloaf fan, and working in an audio store, I was tormented by hearing those songs over and over. My best memory of the times (because it struck me as really funny) was of a little old lady who came into our record department to buy an album as a Christmas gift for one of her grandchildren, and asked "Do you have a record by a man called Meatballs?"
