As Rob suggested, use this thread to post a picture of your Christmas tree. Here's ours, we just decorated it Attachments:

We haven't decorated the house yet. If we do, we usually leave it until closer to Xmas Day. These days we just have a small artificial one.

Thanks! Yours is pretty nice too. We really like balsam firs and it looks like that’s what you bought too. When my dad passed away almost 40 yrs ago, we got all of my parents glass ornaments. When my son was born in ‘88, we bought a huge 9 ft artificial tree and all new ornaments. After that I think we threw out all the old glass ones and I can kick myself for doing this. They were beautiful and classic by todays standards. What really pisses me off is that nowadays, glass ornaments are expensive! Luckily, I kept one that I still put on the tree. It’s a red trumpet with a little reed in it that would toot when you blew into it. It’s over 60 yrs old and I always would “toot” it before putting it on the tree…still do it today. We also have an illuminated angel that topped our family trees since the mid-1950s. We finally retired it about 6 years ago as it’s gold colour didn’t match the colour scheme of our ornaments. here’s an older pic of the horn… I just found an online photo of this angel…

I have many from my tree from when I was a little kid, and we have some that date back to my mother's childhood in the 30's-40's. Each of my kids has treasured ornaments that they can't wait to take out of the box when we are decorating the tree. So if the decorations look like a hodge podge it is because they are from all different time periods- there is no central theme

Each of my kids has treasured ornaments that they can't wait to take out of the box when we are decorating the tree. So if the decorations look like a hodge podge it is because they are from all different time periods- there is no central theme I have a little plastic nativity ornament that my grade 1 teacher gave to each student. It’s almost 60 years old and I stopped putting it on the tree a few years ago as it is so muted, it blends in with the tree. When I brought the tree out to the curb after Christmas, I happened to notice the ornament was still hooked on the branch. So after that year, I stopped hanging it on there. We have a large Rubbermaid container full of Hallmark ornaments that we stopped putting on the tree when the kids were in their later teens. These are the 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc Christmas ornaments with the year printed on them. There are also brother and sister ornaments, again, a new one every year. Being solid, they are much heavier than regular ornaments and tend to weigh down the branches. This year, as you can see, we went with red and silver ornaments (balls and birds) but the kids wanted to put a few of their old Hallmark ones on there too. So we told them each to pick a couple out and add them. We tend to change the colour theme from year to year. Silver and frosted silver are the base colour and then we will enhance it with either red, blue or gold.

Here's ours...
... Okay--we haven't put it up yet--nobody's really feeling up to it yet. We tend to get sick every December. Although maybe not last year...
