Wow really? You are old school! Personally I have nothing against LED's, although I didn't like those lousy CFL's Old school and more than a bit stubborn ...lol I'm with you. I thought CFL's really sucked. I'm unimpressed with LED lighting though....I find the light really harsh but think the illumination is inferior to the old incandescents. We still seem to be able buy some of the old-style lights here, although the selection's getting poorer. I bought an LED trouble-light a few years ago when I was still detailing, only because the heat from incandescent bulbs could damage an interior if they were set down in the wrong place, but the illumination's is absolutely pitiful. Sometimes the old technology is just plain better than the newer version.

Be glad you already own a dehumidifier, George.....They're a hot item in BC right now because of all the flood damage. I know people who've tried to rent them in the last few days, but there isn't much to choose from. If they are trying to rent them to dry out their flooded homes, they aren’t going for the ones like George has…they want to get the big industrial ones. I had a minor sewer backup about 10 yrs ago that damaged some flooring and drywall. The restoration company came in and put two huge-ass dehumidifiers and two huge fans in my basement to dry it out. The dehumidifiers were about 2 ft x 2 ft x 4ft high.

I don’t like the cool white (bluish) light as I find that very harsh. I make sure the the ones I buy are between 2700-3000K. This is the warm white and very similar to the incandescent. I can still find incandescent lights here but only the 40 and 60 watt ones. what I have found is that my Hydro bill dropped after changing to LED lights.

Then, if you have insurance, some blue collar tweekers will come in and repair the drywall in five minutes flat… lol

The guys did a nice job and replaced my cheap Costco laminate flooring with some pretty nice stuff.

Exactly- the new LED's have a wide range of light that they give off- we have mostly LED's throughout the house now. They last longer and use a fraction of electricity- and the prices have come way down.

I like CFLs--There are different types with indoor or outdoor type light.
But LED ones are nicer.
And I will be checking my in case humidifiers in a little bit, after a snack
