I'll watch this one later (dinner is almost ready), but I think Steppenwolf is a kind of hybrid band with 2 Americans, 2 Canadians and a German (I'm not sure what citizenship John Kaye has now). I think they officially were based somewhere in CA?
Edit: I just looked John Kaye up and he was from East Prussia, which is now part of Russia, although I doubt he ever considered himself Russian

Some good bands in there.
On one hand I'm no worried about where a band is from, but on the other it is cool to know that Canada has a good musical heritage (Way more than that Beiber guy)
(& then story about the piano on Takin Care of Business isn't really true, but it makes great story.
But how could leave out Streetheart? (Unless there wa s brief mention in the Loevrboy section, as Paul Dean was in both bands)

Two bands I was not surprised they didn't mention (But I would have): Mashmakhan (Although their drummer is in the video as part of April Wine:
And Thundermug--whose name may have inspired the band name Thunderface on Corner Gas.

And if they mentioned these guys, I fell asleep when they did it. (Yeah it might be tough to include anybody--but leaving out the Stampeders?)

And another 70s classic...
I could go on, but I'll leave it there...
...for now.

People around here still played this one in jams into the 2000s

I just quickly skimmed through the video but didn't notice them mentioning The Band. How can you talk about Canadian music and not mention The Band?

I think Goddo is the only one of those four not mentioned in the initial video--and all deserving of mention. On a side note I bought one of my guitars from Greg Godovitz (At a store he was working at.)

It's like seeing Kim Mitchel on Yonge St. Everyone's seen him. lol I was in a band with Gino Scarpelli's cousin for a bit.

And on a not so serious note.. A Canadian band that wasn't mentioned, deservedly so. Don't take this very seriously.

I'm a big April Wine fan. I've always loved the guitar tone at the start of this song:

Did you ever see "Anvil-the Story of Anvil"? Just goes to show there are no guarantees on making it in music.

I'm a big April Wine fan. I've always loved the guitar tone at the start of this song: I saw April wine at an outdoor show in Germany, I think it was in 82, maybe 81. Other bands on the bill were jethro Tull, king krimson, Michael Schenker with Neil Young being the headliner which I thought was weird at the time.

Brent Butt wrote this song when he was in a band before his comedy & sitcom days...
