If you bought all of the shares would you be able to take it home?

I read this, buying shares in an artist approved prototype from the custom shop? We’re only talking 5 figures here so how long would you have to live to make a dollar. I don’t see any value at all in doing this other then telling your friends that you own shares of a very expensive guitar locked in gibsons vault. Maybe I’m not completely understanding how this works.

If you bought all of the shares would you be able to take it home? If you could afford to buy all the shares would you? Nope. I don't see the value - and I highly doubt younger folk are going to drive these investments upward with names lie Iommi, Slash, or Jones inscribed on them.

Thank you! The original article worked for me but now it doesn't...

I wouldn't be interested in the originals or the shares. As far as having the original, having a physical asset with this much value (other than your house) is in itself too risky unless you are a Saudi prince with basically unlimited means and the money is meaningless. The shares seem like a way to soak these poor punters. I'd imagine many chip in their $5 because they get a certificate that they can show their friends. You'd have to have an awful lot of shares for any price fluctuations to have any impact at all, and I'm sure when they priced the shares, they priced these guitars at the very top of their market value (= more chance of going down than up)...

I was going to posts something about this.
To me it makes no sense to "invest" in it.
there are a number of YouTbers that post guitar stuff who have commented on it--and none of the ones I've seen seem to into it. Some are trying to be more neutral.
but then neither they nor I am financial advisors.
But yeah, you'd be better off investing money in other ways--and as for gear--saving up & buying stuff you can afford--and also would be able to use.

Certainly buying some literally tangible that you can hold, like your own guitar is more gratifying, and if it is a collectors item, you would probably have a lot more luck with appreciation than the shares that have been priced at the top of the market and then diluted with thousands of other shares. Seems like a scheme that only benefits the guy selling the shares

Here’s a quote from the article,
“Guitars of this caliber have historically always gone to individual collectors, but our goal was to find a way to make the ownership experience accessible to as many fans as possible,” explained Gibson Director of Brand Experience Mark Agnesi. “Thanks to Rally’s unique platform, fans can have a chance to own a piece of guitar history that would have otherwise seemed
Guitar history? What a pile of crap. The more I read it the more ridiculous the idea sounds.

Ironically only a handful of people on this forum could even buy the shares if they wanted to anyway- you can't, because you are in Alaska! Canadians are also excluded "Anyone over 18 with a U.S. Social Security number, bank account, ID and address within the contiguous United States is eligible to invest." Maybe you should sue them for "non- contiguous discrimination"

Of course it's possible this will take off and work--and here we are, missing out...
But I'm not worried.
