I'm thinking about getting one. The days are getting shorter and by the time I get home it's dark. I'm scared of the dark and my 70 lb dog is a pussy, I will not be able to do my daily walks through the enchanted forest.
Thoughts?

I never owned one but they are kind of expensive. Supposed to be good quality from what I hear however...
I've noticed recently that my wife and I are going on fewer walks lately because it is getting darker early.

Isn't there a monthly fee with the Peloton?

We have a decent stationary bike and treadmill. I will give both some regular use over the winter. I hate them though as I always feel like a hamster when I'm on one regardless of whether I'm listening to music, reading a book or watching some tv. If the sun comes out I much prefer a walk in the woods.

From what I’ve read pelotons are expensive, roughly 1500-2000 bucks. There is also a monthly fee associated with the interactive part of it. I don’t have a clue how it stacks up against other stationary bikes but I think it would be worth some investigation. Now, if the interactive part of it included a hologram of the instructor walking over to the couch and telling me to get my ass on the bike it might be worth it.

I generally don't like the idea of things that have monthly fees. Even my cell phone is prepaid annually.

40 for the monthly fee, but that's cheaper than if my wife and I had a membership to the gym. Also my wife's work reimburses it.. which is one reason I thinking about it. The bike itself is 1500.00 (Basic) and since I'm a veteran I get a pair of the required shoes free.. well really not free because the bike is expensive AF! The second pair of shoes I got off Amazon for 40...

What the hell is a Peloton.
And if you’re afraid of the dark get an M1911 they are not expensive.

I can't take the $$$ with me. I mean people say guitars are expensive AF and if they paid that money it should play itself.

I used to do a fair bit of running in my RAF days & up to around 2005.
I detest treadmills & indoor activity equipment like that. I much prefer to run in the open air, sunny or not. Also some treadmills can cause leg injuries due to the steady pace and hardish surface.
I appreciate some people can't do their activity outside, especially in the dark, but their not for me.

I prefer the recumbent nbikes--the other ones tend to make me sore. But a rec unbent bike I can easily read (I can't red on a treadmill) And I can also play my Mandobird as well.
So now I just need to actually exercise
