i searched Traynor and there is a couple threads that mention these amps but not one dedicated to Traynor. Being a Canadian I have been around these amps a long time. I finally bought a used YCV-20WR a couple years ago and I am very happy with this amp. It suits my needs at this time, I don't gig anymore or even jam with others so 15 watts is enough clean headroom for me and stomp boxes provide breakup. I run it direct into a mixer that goes to a PA and DAW.

I have a Traynor IronHorse (20/40w, EL34). My second one after regrettably selling my first one. Cool little head that has great, loud cleans and a beautiful crunch channel. For grab n' go jams, I have a Traynor QuarterHorse (25w SS pedal amp). I got that with 10" weber which held up fine at this jam. Then the host wheeled out a 412 for me to plug into. Sheet Mon! did that ever open it up! I've since got a 112 cab with a Celestion 150w Sidewinder that I use with both of these amps.

I've played through some real good trainer amps over the years--certainly under-rated amps by most. I do own one Traynor--a TBM-10 bass amp--practice amp--10 watts, small speaker--but it can get the job done as a practice amp.

I had a Quarter Horse and sold it to I believe a member here on another site. In all fairness I just didn't dig the little knobs with my arthritis and poor vision. I have an old Marshall 4x12 that makes any amp sound huge, I should have tried that!
I have a couple of modded Epi Jr heads that I have tried through the cab recently, Awesome!

My Traynor TBM10-front view--on top of my Fender Rumble bass amp--from an old jam space.

I've owned a few - YCV50 Blue, YCV80Q, YGL1, and probably a couple of others.
I recently picked up a YGM-3 reissue and it is easily the best of the bunch. Hand-wired, and a Deluxe Reverb killer.

I would really like to have a YGM-3 RI, I just don't know if I need it? If COVID ever ends I might try to get out and play with others, I haven't in years and kind of miss that. I have gotten better sine I got a looper to play along with. For now I am just happy playing with myself!

EL 84s tend to be harsher and a little glassy sounding….think of a Vox amp vs a Fender amp

Back in the 70's I owned a Traynor bass head and Sunn cabinet that I used in the band. Can't remember the model number, but I believe it was 100 watt tube head. It sounded great, and I only traded it away because I was offered a straight swap for a vintage Telecaster that I wanted. I have a lot of respect for the brand, particularly the vintage stuff, although I think the more modern amps are decent quality too.

Well, I was referring to the video, but sure... I'm pretty sure that nobody would test the vid's accuracy by tossing their vintage YBA-1 off of a roof. Hence, the Line 6. Just to see an amp go splat. lol

I got this one in 2015 along with some new boots - still have the amp and the boots. Their battery powered 15 watt amp is on sale for 200 so wondering about getting that so I can play gospel songs and rebuke sin every friday night in front of the liquor store.

I thought so, hope that fit your needs! Sometimes I regret selling equipment, I just am getting to a point where I have to much that I don't use and like to sell it to someone that will use it.

I'm a little surprised that Traynor hasn't tried more to capitalize on their vintage amp designs and done something like Fender's RI amplifiers.

I envy you guys. I had to get rid of 80% of my tools, my guitar-building supplies and several guitars and amps when I moved from my previous home of 17 years. I still have seven instruments, a couple of amps, and a PA, so my studio apartment feels full, but I wish I still had everything I used to have.
