The auction of Peart’s seven cars, held via Gooding & Company at the Pebble Beach Auctions on Aug. 13-14, saw the top sale of the collection go to his 1970 Lamborghini Miura P400 S, which sold for a whopping $1.67 million (or $1.325 million US) after being predicted to sell for more than $1.26 million (or $1 million US.)
Only one car from the collection, the 1964 Aston Martin DB5, did not reach its reserve price (estimated beforehand to reach between $822,000-907,135 (or $650,000-$725,000 US) and failed to sell.

I love the Aston Martin and that Jag The 12 cylinder XKE in convertible was always a dream car for me. Alas, car technology has advanced so much that this isn't really even a fast car by today's standards!

Just thought, Neil was 6'4". Must've been tight for him in some of those.

I love 289 AC Cobras (more than the 427 'too much' version) and I love the Jag E-types ("the greatest crumpet collector known to man" - Henry N. Manney III). But that Muira, that's what I'd be jonesing for, if I were a customer there. No surprise it went for the most. I love the Aston Martin and that Jag The 12 cylinder XKE in convertible was always a dream car for me. Alas, car technology has advanced so much that this isn't really even a fast car by today's standards! LOL So true. The most basic 4 cylinder version of the current Camaro makes 275 HP. About 100 more than the highest-end V8 Z28 from 45 years ago. In E-types, I'm more partial to the older Series I and II cars with the inline six. They were a bit more 'sports car' and a bit less 'grand touring'. Alas, all well out of my price range. Well, except the Camaro which I could own tomorrow if I wanted. But good luck getting an amp into that car ...........

Certainly room in the trunk to carry a mid-life crisis.

That split window Vette should be worth quite a bit as they were only made for one year and are quite rare. When I worked at TRW, our CFO had one.

Heck, one could simply wear that on one's sleeve, no trunk required
