Any thoughts on the upcoming "We Love New York City" concert? I'm not thrilled about every act that's booked for it, but I'd like to hear some of the headliners, like Paul Simon, Santana and Bruce Springsteen. It's interesting that they've got a vaccine tie-in - You have to have had at least one Covid shot to be admitted. This is one of the first big events I'm aware of that's making vaccination a prerequisite for admission, but I'll predict this is going to be a pattern in the coming months. I suspect this'll be a musically worthwhile event, and who knows, maybe historically significant.

Jeez where the heck have I been? I live 20 miles from the lower top of Manhattan and never heard of this until now. It is a cool idea but im sure I won't go to it- it will be an absolute zoo with drugs everywhere

I ran around New York in the 1995 Marathon, but won't be going to this concert. Sounds good though. Some of our venues have already been demanding it. Nightclubs and other crowded places will be doing it at the end of the month. Double jabbed or maybe a covid test. Reading and Leeds Festival

It is a cool idea but im sure I won't go to it- it will be an absolute zoo with drugs everywhere They’ve been advertising it a lot on CNN. I may set my PVR to tape it so that I can blow by the acts that don’t thrill me. Then again, next weekend is supposed to be “girls weekend” at my SILs trailer. So maybe, I’ll just stay in and enjoy the whole show while imbibing in a few “brown pops”

Don't eat the brown acid........ There's little change off that with me! I guess the talk about this upcoming concert reminds me so much of the first Woodstock event that the warning about the acid came to mind, lol. Things have gotten pretty relaxed these days. When I went downtown a couple of evenings ago to hear that Beatles tribute band, I hadn't thought much about the fact that I was casually smoking a doobie. I suddenly realized I was standing next to an RCMP officer, but he never batted an eye, although I'm sure he was aware. I think that as long as people don't bring out the hard stuff in front of them, it's not much of an issue anymore. How the times have changed.

Sure I'll drink beer, but never did pot and I wouldn't Dream of doing anything even harder

I wouldn't think of having a beer (which I guess is almost anti-Canadian, lol). After so many years, pot doesn't get me high anymore, but it's very soothing for my arthritic pain.

So it is... in college I liked Spirits but they just hit me too hard as I got older. I'll enjoy Red wine from time to time but I greatly prefer beer

It doesn’t take much to get me shit-faced booze wise these days. I gave up smoking everything 30 yrs ago. I enjoy the odd beer in the summertime on a hot day, or red wine with dinner but my main drink is single malt scotch.
However, this should be a topic for a different thread….sorry, highjacking complete, we now return to the original thread….😎
