The US media is getting some stick over here for displaying the medals table different to the Official and accepted way the rest of the world shows it.
It's always been based on total Gold, then Silvers and Bronzes if there's a tie on Golds. This places China at the top, as they have more Golds than the US. The US seem to bas their table on total medals. It's laughable as they are the only ones who believe it.

If that's the most we have to worry about, it has been a pretty darn good day! I'm not even watching the Olympics, but I see German medals all over the news

I’m just checking the sports shows or the news in the evening to see how the Canucks are doing. I saw we won the gold in the 200m men’s race today.

But if they had more golds and fewer total medals you can bet your ass they'd be showing the table that way.
