I just put this rig together - a Marshall JVM210H and a 1960A cab. Both bought used from L&M for $1400 ($899 for the JVM and $500 for the 1960), which is a significant savings compared to their prices when new. I got lucky and both are in superb shape with the only blemish being one small 1/8" nick on the bottom front of the amp that will be very easy to repair. A 100 watt Marshall and 4x12 seems perfectly practical for home use right?

Talking about home use, I used to play in a band where the other guitarist had a double stack 100w Marshall, like yours, in his living room, against the fireplace. We used to practice there. He would go through his Fender Hot Rod and I used the Marshall.
Needless to say, he was divorced

A 100 watt Marshall and 4x12 seems perfectly practical for home use right? Well, it can be ----- depending on which amp, which home and tolerance of your neighbors.
I saw an add 15+ years ago. A guy on the island was sell his beloved Jimi Hendrix sig Marshall full stack. That was the 100 watt NMV amp and a pair of oversized 412. Being before commercial reampers (Unleash and PowerStation), he was having a hard time getting into amp distortion in his basement. Even with a very big basement, that would be a challenge. Those things were made to cover 10,000 seat arenas.
A good MV or reamper is the guitarist's best friend these days. Even if we like it loud at home, most venues do not anymore.........

That's kind of like my Ampeg v-4 (120 tube watts from 4x7027 power tubes). In order for you to get this thing to distort in your basement you'd be breaking windows it would be so loud. That said, it has a magnificent tone, albeit through a 2x12 cab...

The JVM has volume and gain controls on each channel, plus tow master volumes. In addition, the effects level control on the back can be used as an additional master volumes if you plug a patch cable into the loop (it actually has two loops).

Yeah, see my Ampeg only has a volume control- no gain.
