That's New Gig Bag Day-
well it actually was not today.
But I finally own a gig bag.
I do prefer hardshell cases, but as I keep hearing on some British shows-Needs must.
In any case (no pun intended-or was it?) A number of years ago I bought an Epi Mandobird (Which I have posted bout here)
I got hot used & they had been discontinued at that point.
Originally they came with gig bags--nothing came with mine though.
I took it home in a box from a small acoustic guitar--it worked as a temporary thing.
They didn't have anything at the store at that time that would have fit (& I had the Mandobird right there to compare)
Since then I've kept an eye out for it, but wasn't sure, the price was too much, etc.
I did write the dimensions down & thought I had it in my wallet--but it disappeared at one point.
But for the most part I never found anything that would fit.
So the other day I found a gig bag for a baritone ukulele--and it was okay for measurements (I put them on my phone)
And it was a dent price.
I took it home & it works well.
It's a little long--but not much. The body keeps it from sliding up though-and the width of the body is a good fit.
It has a small pouch that fits my picks perfectly.
And I put a microfibre cloth at the to to help with the length.
It's nothing fancy--but it will do the job for a reasonable price.
(I have a problem with spending as much on a case as what the instrument costs.)
It has a bumper pad at the bottom, and enough padding to protect reasonably well against dings, and stuff.
I may add some foam padding on the neck/headstock, but I like it.
the brand is Rouge Valley--never heard of it before.
