I have been messing with a TC Hall of Fame pedal and I have to say I am digging it. The church and shimmer feature are awesome. I take it that you have the 2nd version of the HOF? I was looking at one online recently and it was the original version with a single type of verb. The guy wanted $90 for it so I passed.

Not a reverb user here. When I have, it's only been a pinch. I have a Boss FDR1 ('65 Fender Deluxe Reverb Amp pedal) that a friend gave me a coupla' years back that I've yet to try out. lol

It never really came out of the box and I wound up selling it

It is a HOF 2, I paid $100 cdn used. Less than half of what I usually see them going for. I was hoping the 2 would mean the prices not he original would drop. They didn't At least as far as I could tell. One one hand all those crazy tone print reverb settings are funny to goof around with--on the other I wonder if I would use most of them? SO for now I'm sticking with my cheap verb pedal with spring, plate & hall sounds. Maybe one day.

I've recently seen this subject of the Fender Reverb tanks on another site. One of the points mentioned is how the sound and performance of the tank changes over time. Without making any judgements, it was acknowledged that there were some differences and "the new tank may sound more aggressive because the springs are newer and haven't stretched out". So it appears that there is a difference and this isn't something I'm deluding myself about. That guy suggested switching to a medium decay MOD unit which apparently sounds more like an old Fender. This might be something I'd like to investigate if the MOD tank will fit in the low profile of my head cabinet.

I used to hardly ever use reverb. however, now in my later years, I use just a little bit for "taste". the reverb that I have comes with my old Gibson amps from 1966.the reverb is very strong with these old amps. never used a pedal. however, I do have a "delay" pedal. but it's only used for the delay effect.

I don`t know enough about the differences in types of reverb so I had to read this... www.stockmusicmusician.com/blog/types-of-reverbMy amp has a spring reverb tank. It`s sounds good at about 3(less is more) on a clean channel with a little delay. The multi-effects unit I have, has many reverb options, but I`ve not taken the time to play with it. Back when i was watching everything casue I knew nothing( like yesterday or something) it became common to see the Strymon BigSky win alot of pedal battles...it`s pricy. The video i posted above also shows the JHS pedal doing a good job againt the expensive Strymon at a lower price point.

But you’re in luck! Advances in technology have led people to create reverb pedals so good, no one will notice that only 2 out of 6 strings on your axe are ringing out. Now sit back and allow us here at The Hard Times to list the top 15 reverb pedals that came out in 2023 to hide your lack of talent, will to practice, and teensy-tiny hands.
