Although if it a blue blazer with brass buttons they could scratch up the back quote a bit... On gigs i usually buckle my belt over the left hip to avoid scratching the back of the guitar I think the last time I wore something like that I was 6 Really? I find a blazer a lot more ubiquitous than a suit because I can wear chinos with it, but hey different strokes, as they say.

I can’t play guitar while wearing a blazer or suit jacket....it just feels bulky. If I wear a tie, I don’t wear tie pins or clips.

But even then I push the sleeves up.

I find that the sweat makes the guitar sticky with short sleeves. I never wore sweatbands- maybe that helps

And actually I prefer short sleeves over all as well. For just about anything unless I need long sleeves for protection.

I don't generally sweat that much relative to anyone else, but there could be a pH difference. I will admit French cuffs do get in the way but sometimes I wear them anyway.

Like DB, I prefer long sleeves as sweat makes my bare forearm stick to the guitar. I wear short sleeves around the house and play with no problem. However, when I play gigs I tend to sweat under the lights, even in air conditioned rooms.

But maybe enough time under hot lights with my 12 string?

I still have the vintage skinny strap that came with my ‘75 Tele. Even at its most extended length, it felt like my guitar was right under my chin! kinda like this... View AttachmentI tend to wear my guitar high but not like this. You're pretty much playing like Bill Wyman in that case Well mine wasn't that long & had a buckle contraption to lengthen it. Our first bass player, on left. Bill Wyman played a lot like him. Funny enough, when this pic was taken in 63, we hadn't really noticed much of the Stones. When the bass player saw them, he said that bloke plays like me

I always take it off and place in my pocket. In the 60s, I sometimes wore it at the top of my left arm. You can see it in this pic when I played bass for a while. It's not a tattoo, it's my watch.
BTW do you like my colour co-ordination. White homemade bass as well

I never had a problem with wearing a watch as it’s on my fretting arm. I have always worn one while playing to keep track of set lengths and when we need to break. It’s never gotten in my way. However, I wear a medical ID bracelet on my other wrist and have to keep pushing it up to keep it away from the guitar. I find that sometimes when I’m playing, I can hear it rattling against the bridge.

A strap around my wrist seems to restrict movement or it's psychological.

It could be down to fact I use a lot of vibrato and as I wear watches quite loose, they shake about a bit.

I’ve lost 33lbs over the past year and all my watches have gotten loose as well as my medical alert bracelet. I can tighten up my watches but the bracelet isn’t so simple. I can order a new one but I just got this one last year....it would be a waste of money

Ideally, I should be about 165-170 for my height. I don’t ever recall being that weight as an adult. Lowest I’ve been was 180 when I got married. However, if I could lose another 30lbs it should bring down my BP and probably get my blood sugars down. Once it gets mild again and I can start going for walks, it should help. I have a treadmill here at home but it’s not the same as being outdoors.

I'm certain I'm closer to 170 at this point but I don't own a scale.

Funny thing is that at Christmas 2019, my wife bought me 4 nice Brooks Bros shirts and 3 nice pairs of chinos. By March I was working from home and didn’t need to wear any of it. We went out for dinner in November and when I got dressed up, I was swimming in my clothes! 😀. They were really baggy. My waist was basically 2 inches smaller as I had to tighten my belt by 2 notches. So we went out before this past Christmas and bought 3 nice smaller Brooks Bros shirts, a sport jacket and 2 smaller pairs of chinos. I figured I didn’t need so many shirts and pants as I wasn’t working anymore and the sport jacket was required if I ever needed to get “dressed up” for any occasion as my other jackets were too big. Who knows, but I may have to do this again next Christmas!🤔

I just started buying BB a few years ago. Shirts are good quality cotton. We have an outlet store in St Catharines and I’ve gotten some great deals on shirts. My chinos are usually Dockers. I used to shop at Macy’s for my Greg Norman golf shirts and shorts when the border was open...also good quality stuff and I’d get some stuff at 50-60% off. Name brand golf clothing is ridiculously expensive up here.

Believe it or not I still have dozens of dress shirts from there that I bought in 1994 right before I went back for my MBA. However I did move away from their chinos several years ago because Land's End fits really well and they will hem them for free if you order online, which is a huge bonus.

I haven't worn a watch in years--I never really liked it any way. But when I did wear one I would often take it off when I played.
