Hmm, interesting thoughts there. I do not have perfect pitch--so I never will either, but I would like better pitch recognition. Still some interesting points

Okay, cool. A lot of that stuff just happens. I know some people find it fascinating, I just tend to get disinterested after a while. Over 15 minutes one explaining why some bloke thinks you DON'T want perfect pitch seems a bit over the top. Still on the positive side his 307,620 views have earned him a bit of money with the ads

My son probably has perfect pitch and I can give some observations:
1- At one point he had to stop participation with the school singing group because their singing out of tune really bothered him to the point it wasn't fun. 2- Watching live music performances is often not enjoyable for him because every out of tune note sticks out like a sore thumb.
Although interestingly when he hears a note, and says "Bb" he will be talking about a concert Ab because his pitches are all for trumpet since he was 6. I'm curious to see if that changes now that he has ear training in college this semester

Keyboard player in my old band had perfect pitch. We could play any note on our guitar and he could tell us what it was. If we asked him to sing Bb or any note, he would be right on. It was amazing. However, if we played a note that was slightly sharp or flat, it would screw him up.

He DID have a problem detecting notes in the lower octaves. So he could be starting to lose it

He DID have a problem detecting notes in the lower octaves. I'll have to ask my son if he had trouble in different octaves. I don't think so because I hear him sometimes humming in different octave to figure notes out
