Our horn player also has a bari sax….expensive sucker as all his horns are top line Selmers (soprano, sopranino, alto, tenor and bari) as well as his clarinet and flute. Tens of thousands of dollars worth of horns.

Tens of thousands of dollars worth of horns. It is very easy to go into the thousands with horns. No real pro quality horn of any type costs much less than $2500. My son's trumpet is a Custom Shop Edwards and would probably retail between $4000-5000 nowadays. Bari saxes and French horns can easily go over $10,000. We guitar players have it good! You can get a $100 Squier, set it up and change the pickups and play it on stage with nobody the wiser. Brass and reed players have to really pay up and the student models are completely unsuitable for real stage work.

Cool pics!!!!! Looking at the pics I’ll assume your a rock guy. I played in thrash bands around atlanta throughout the 90’s, went from there to rock and blues, then to country for a few years and now I’m in a cover band with my wife playing mostly 70’s rock.

Here's a picture from a gig last week At least your in the shade db!!!!!! Yeah, a luxury! Outside gigs can be fun, but I've been subjected to some really crappy conditions over the years. I've played outside in the sun at 100F, played in torrential rain storms when the street was flooded over the tops of our shoes, freezing rain. And then there is Christmas caroling when it is 20F and snowing so hard you have to dump the snow off your horn after every song. You gots to go where the jobs is.

Boy the pants came out funky looking in pic #1! Yes the colouriser isn’t perfect but not too bad. His jeans were probably grey. Not sure if tie dyeing was out in 63/64

I don't have a recent picture, but I do have a You Tube link to what they managed to capture of our 39 Days Of July performance downtown yesterday. It's a little rough around the edges....Dale, Greg, and Ingrid were a trio many years ago, but haven't played together for 15 years or more, I had three weeks to learn all the material, and we had two live rehearsals with some cobbled-together drum tracks. link

Thanks, John. I've never mastered taking screenshots, but that's perfect. It's a shame that poster on your side was there as it often obscured part of you.

LOL
"He's so ugly the world faked a disease so he would cover up."
Seriously, he's a very nice and normal looking guy. And onehellofa drummer!
We'd just set up and then a rain shower came through (we hadn't seen rain in about 44 days by then). A brief shower, but we suddenly were tarping up equipment (notice my NX10 monitor laying flat to protect the cone). After the shower it was my job to get up by myself, play a bit of Benson's Breezin' and make an announcement. Breezin' was because it is one of Elle's favorite songs and we'd used it for our wedding two weeks before (secretly in SK). I was announcing our wedding to her family, the early guests at the party we hosted.
And that, as they say, is the rest of the story.
