I know some here don't use them, but Samurai Guitarist has a series of videos on ones that are off kilter or not the norm.
Even though most of them aren't ones I'd use--I find it fun to check them out this way--and I have tried some myself.
So feel free to comment & share if you have any unusual pedals. (Or used to)
This is one of the videos:

The Beetronics Swarm would be my last choice here--I know there ar musical forms it would work with, but I don't know that anybody here would use it. I'm not a big trem user--but the Ana Sounds Spinner and Sliver is kind of cool. the Coppersound Telegraph is kind of cool, I have tried one--but not really something I'd use. And they don't recommend you use it with your foot, which would be easier to use. The Alexander Marshmallow is kind of cool sounding, but again, not something I'd use. the Rainger FX Minibar is a cool idea-but I wonder how long it would take to break down?
I think a lot of times guitar players buy pedals because--wow that's cool--but then reality hits and you don't really have a use for it.
But if your purpose is to have fun--then cool.

And another--this one is called Absurd pedals:

The Csidman is to recreate the skipping of a CD--not sure it does that--but it could work in a song or two. Of course some are like--how about recreating a skipping LP?
Dwarf Bleep--could be fun if I used Fuzz pedals--although that bleep could get annoying.
The Mini-Ark-like Samurai Guitarist, the number of controls is daunting. I guess if I wanted to play something that sounds like an old video game--it would be cool.
T-120 Videotape Echo --it looks like an old video tape case/package. It has sounds I would use, although I have a couple of delay/echos
Hot Hand-I think I would find it confusing, but who knows? I would try it out.
If I had to pick--the first video I pick the Marshmallow if I had to sue one. For the most recent video--the T-120 Videotape Echo would be my pick.
But even if I didn't like any of them, I found the videos fun to watch

Videoscope -could be cool for live shows or videos--or just showing off to friends, but not one I'd be likely to buy. Airbrush -Could work for some stuff, but would be annoying in many settings. I played a different pedal that did something similar--and it was not my thing-still if you want weird sounds, it works for that. Morpheus - basically a pitch shift pedal. Which is digital sounding and how does it track? It sounds like some notes didn't track so well. Cyclops II - It's fun to play with different delays--and it sounds good, although I have two delays so do I need a third? I don't know that I'd use the extra bit on it--but basic delay --sure. Signal Diverter - not sure it really makes a difference. And it seems to have the potential for noise.
I enjoy the videos--they're fun, but none of these pedals tempt me. If I had to use one? Probably the Cyclops II using the normal delay sounds. The one I'd be least likely to use? The signal diverter as I am not really sure if it makes any significant difference other than adding noise to my signal.

It's time for another installment:
After Strangest, Absurd & Peculiar, I'm posting Ridiculous...

-Mold Spore: on the pro side--the one setting gives you regular was pedal. the ridiculous side is adding in a ring modulator. As I don't have a use for ring modulators in what I play--then not for me (& pedal was mess me up) -Mothership 2: Has potential--some cool sounds, depends on whether you need them or want them. I can see some use for it. -Raster: Pitch shifting delay--some potential, but not sure it's what I'd use much--still could be fun to play around with, as the echoes get pitch shifted. but mostly potential for noise-although you can use it as a delay, but I have two I like already. -Fuzz Probe: Not into Fuzz pedals that much--but it could be fun to try, just not something I would find myself using. -Fuzz Probe: Not really a pedal, but an "instrument of it's own. More novelty than anything else--but for a one song or something it could be cool.
Overall 5 pedals I wouldn't really have use for, but still they could be fun to try, and for the right person they could be very useful. And it's cool that people are trying to be creative, even if these would be niche pedals at best-nothing wrong with that--and most make some normal effects sounds as well.

Sammy G still has more of these videos, but Josh from JHS has a video in a similar vein. Practical or Pointless--some cool stuff there--some of it pointless as well, but still cool, and some that isn't really my thing.

Commenting the JHS video above (Lats one I posted in this thread)
Stomp Switch Toppers - maybe--but I don't have an issue, and I have wide feet.-so give them to me, I may try them. But I don't see myself buying them. ProCo RAT Tail - interesting idea, but I wonder who easily it would break down. Tuners- whatever kind you like and works--cool--even if it's an old one. MXR Paperweight- kind of fun idea--not useful really, but I like the idea-though I doubt I'd buy one. Sound Stone - cool. I've tried an E Bow and it has a learning curve. While I wouldn't use this a lot, I can see some applications Pulstron & The Bright Switch - again, concerns over it breaking down, and I think I'd find it awkward--but I like the little hand he has on his finger. Picks - sometimes the difference between two picks is subtle, and may be unnoticeable to the listener, but they do affect how the guitar player plays--so even if the listener doesn't hear a difference, the guitarist does. The Submarine- I sure Sammy G featured this--could be fun to try in some contexts. Pick Holders - handy to have holders, but I don't know how that being on a pedalboard would help. But hey-whatever you can do to help that way--cool. Capo - I get their uses--and there are some good uses for them, and some of the capo variants out there. I've used one twice in my life--both times I borrowed one because I was playing with people who knew the song in one key & I knew it in another. Since they knew it in the key the singer liked, I sued capo--and didn't enjoy it. messed up my muscle memory and sense of scale of the guitar (I can easily switch between guitars of a different scale lengths (i have 24, 24.75 and 25.5 scales on my guitars plus 30 & 34 on my basses) but when using a capo it feels like I have a longer headstock that messes up my spatial sense of things. I think I'd really only use one if I played more slide & wanted a different key instead of open G.

Ravish Sitar: this would be cool to use--but I don't think I'd use it a lot--at least not with other people. Still could be fun. Boss VO-1: basically an electronic talk box--which I wanted when I was younger, but I got over ti. Some people use them well though--and it would fun to try. Z-Vex Seek Wah: I think I'd find it annoying to play, but I can see how some people who do cool stuff with it. WMD Geiger Counter: Not my thing--but again I could see some people being creative with it. Korg Miau: Definitely not my thing, but I can see some p[eople having fun with it.
Overall I don't see myself buying any of these--but I wouldn't mind trying the Ravish Sitar or VO-1--and if someone gave me a free one of either, I'd keep it.

Hey--overdue for another one to share--this time he's called them Bizarre pedals

So going over the pedals
1-The Plus Pedal, my Boss DF-2 does something very similar, and I barely use that anymore--still a cool option to have. 2-Interstellar Orbiter -cool to play around with, but I wonder how much I'd actually use it, and my Boss AW-3 makes an "Oi" sound. 3-Count To Five -Coudl be fun to play, but not much use for what I do. 4-Candela Vibrophase -hard to say much other than mention the price is way too high. 5-Grain Pedal - doesn't work for what I do, but I can see some odd stuff being done with one. 6-Turd Fuzz - Not visually appealing, but sounds good for a Fuzz--
Overall one of the better offerings. At least in sense of how many pedals I like & might use.
