Time for some tuner talk.
What do you own and what do use use at home and on stage?
What don't you use and why?

So by the context it sounds like you mean a device to check our tuning as opposed to do the tuning (as in machine head)
I mostly use a Snark clip on I have a couple of blue ones I also have a Reverb one I got for a couple of bucks And an Intellitune
I have an old Korg tuner I don’t use and I have a couple of tuning apps The TC Electronics Polytune & an iStrobo tuner I like Polytune better

I use a korg pitch black floor tuner. It’s not finicky, easy to see and great for gigs, at least for me anyway. I’ve used others in the past, mostly boss stuff. I actually like the boss analog tuners but they aren’t robust in my opinion, their digital tuners are to touchy for me.

I have an old Seiko plug in tuner that has basically been replaced by a bunch of headstock tuners. I have 2 blue Snarks that I bought and a Korg tuner that the guitar tech left on my guitar after installing my end pin jack. I was going to bring it back until I saw the scratch she left on my Martin’s headstock.

I typically use the red snarks on stage. I have a black one and a blue one that I haven't seen in years. All in all I probably have 10 x snacks because I keep one in every case.
my korg metronome is a tuner too but I never use it as a tuner.
I also have a peterson stroboclip but I rarely use it

I’d love a Conn Strobotuner if I could find one For at home use Especially after string changes and checking intonation And recording

I need to get that guitar in tune as fast as possible between songs and all the futzing around with a strobe tuner just doesn't cut it!

That’s why I specified home use Although I have seen them off to the side at concerts but that’s when they have their own guitar techs

Even if your not a floor tuner guy it’s worth checking out. It’s really meant for a pedal board if you have one, it would be difficult to manage if you don’t.

Especially if one had a pedal board as you mentioned It’s not a finicky tuner, very meat and potatoes. By finicky I mean it doesn’t flutter or dance around, just a perfect tuner for a gig setting and relatively cheap as well. Korg has improved their displays over the years so it’s easy to see onstage.

That's exactly the problem with the strobe tuners- great for fine work but they are so accurate you go crazy getting the thing in tune.

I have a couple of TC Electronics Polytune clip ons. Why two you may ask? I thought I lost one at a gig, so bought another afterwards. Then I found the first one.
I also have two Boss pedals, TU2 & TU3 packed away somewhere.
Amazing I went all the way through the 60s with no tuners. My Guild Slim Jim stayed in tune very well, so I would check mine manually and the others would tune with me. No doubt we were probably not exactly in A440 tuning, but close enough.
At home, I would usually tune my guitar to the Shadows playing Apache.

I find Snarks to be extremely accurate for clip on tuners. I found them easier to use when I set up the intonation on my guitars.

They are cheap, accurate and last for years The early ones had a problem where the battery contacts would oxidize and stop working. I emailed them and they sent me and my son new ones free of charge. Then I learned how to fix the old ones and now I’ve got 2 as well as my son.

I had something happen with Snarks--although the second one had one of the rubber pads fall off--and it's highly unlikely I'll ever find it. But I've never had them break otherwise--although I've heard tales. Apparently they have newer ones that are less likely to have that happen One reason I like the Snarks is the swivel feature--it's easier to read them on different guitars. Other tuners will be easily visible on one guitar & not so much on another.

I had a few that stopped recognizing vibrations, I always assumed that this was because we were using them on trumpets and they weren't built to handle that much resonance but I have no idea. They are cheap enough that when that happened I just threw them out
