I used this in another thread--to illustrate vintage tuners--but it deserves to be here as well with the other headstocks

My first guitar, my 1965 Zenon Victoria, not only had the smallest body, but also the largest headstock I've ever seen on an electric guitar. Plus it was tipped back even more than a Gibson, which makes me wonder how I never managed to break it off. It used to drive me nuts....It was impossible to lean against the wall, so I had to lay it on my bed with the headstock sticking over the edge. This is a picture of it, just a few days after I bought it back, but before I'd replaced the missing Zenon logo....

I've heard of other headstocks referred to as Gumby shaped--btu this one for me is the most Gumby shaped I've seen. And for some strange reason, I like it:

Sort of a reverse of the last one--but a Dano

Rickenbacker 12 string headstock Those are classic headstocks--and a great way to keep the headstock from being so long, as 12 strings normally are. So it's well engineered, and looks cool too.

On the subject of big 12 string headstocks, there's the Fender "hockey stick"

I had an old Harmony Sovereign 12 string that my parents bought for me around 1970-71. This photo is from Reverb but it shows the slotted headstock that was on my guitar.

Those stamped F tuners were the worst tuners I’ve ever had on my guitars. They came on my ‘75 Tele and the updated Schaller version came on my 2009 ‘72 Thinline RI. In both cases they felt terrible as some were stiff, others turned freely while others turned freely to a point and then would stiffen. There was no direct replacement for them until Kluson came out with their Revolution series a few years ago. I replaced them on both guitars and haven’t looked back (note: the original CBS tuner holes had to be opened up to accept them.) www.kluson.com/kluson-6-in-line-revolution-series-f-mount-tuning-machines-with-staggered-posts-details.html

I don't know. But my Mustang stays in tune well.

Actually most of the ones I've posted are not mine--but some are, although some of them are pictures I took.

Are these all yours Zontar? Well, you could be referring to the posts where I mention a headstock is not my guitar. Or you could be asking honestly. Some of the headstocks are mine, some belong to people I know, Some I took at one of 2 or 3 different years of a local guitar show or other places & some I found online. Some of the ones that aren't mine I wish were mine. And os here's another that isn't mine. but Yamaha Pacificas are great bang for your buck guitars-especially if you don't have a lot of money...

As much as I can understand the advantage in the straight string-pull, I've never cared for the look of these 4 + 2 headstocks....
