I made some burgers and fries tonight. Took a while to get the BBQ hot enough but that was due to being low on propane. I swapped tanks part way through and had no problem after that.

Bought a roast the other day--they were on sale--way cheaper than I've seen beef in some time--and all other beef was at least twice as much per pound (Some of it 3 or 4 times as much
And yes it tasted like beef.
Cooked it int he crockpot--the gravy was real good.
the hot beef sandwiches with left over beef earlier today (Friday)

A couple of scotches while preparing dinner. Veal Parmesan and Gnocchi in tomato sauce and a bottle of Australian Cabernet for dinner. Birthday cake for desert.
I think the missus was impressed!

Tomorrow I'm going on a new cooking adventure. I've been afraid of trying cook eggs for years after a bad experience, but one of my neighbors has talked me into trying again. I probably won't do them for breakfast., but maybe will attempt scrambled eggs for lunch.

I did french fries for lunch today. I'm thinking about shopping for one of those vegematic machines that you can push a potato through to get precut fries. Seems to me that would make this a less labour-intensive meal and I might be tempted to do it more often.
Still haven't done any science experiments with the eggs I bought. Maybe tomorrow....
