I think I said this in another thread but I lost my guitar rig in a house fire about 3 years ago and that included this nice powered trailer trash diamond plate pedal board. It was as beautiful as it was overpriced but I loved it. On it was a Ernie ball volume, crybaby, boss superchorus, Ibanez tube screamer, mxr phase 90, boss delay, Korg strobe tuner, I also had a heil talk box but it was to damn heavy for the board. It was like humping around a cinder block. All that was piped into a roctron preamp and a Marshall monobloc 100/100. I also had a floor mount fender mustang for small gigs and I wound up using it as a preamp down the road. Pedals weren't in that order. I must be the only person in the world who keeps expression pedals, like volume, Wah Wah, Whammy, Talk Box..... off of my pedalboard, I have them all in my signal chain, but they are just taped to the floor, and not physically on any of my pedalboards. You're not alone. I hate having expression pedals on an angle. I tried with my first attempt to make a wedge board where there was a large cutout for the vibe, wah and VP, but I didn't take my giant foot into account, slapped it together 2 minutes before time to go, and tried it that night. I couldn't use any of them. Oh well... I'll fix it on the next one, or just have them on the wedge. If you think ergonomically, it's better to have them on the wedge angle, because putting your foot forward lifts it off the floor anyway, so you almost have to be standing on the pedal with a percentage of your weight. Having the pedal come up to meet your foot kind of alleviates that and is really a more natural position, I think. I just don't like it. Here was that first attempt: It's horribly sloppy, because my wife was literally loading things and kids into the van while I was wiring it up. I'm glad I hadn't built the lid for it yet.

In the past few months, I have acquired a Sabbra Cadabra and RAH pedals by catilinbread. I have been running one or the other with an MXR phaser or a CE-2.
I mostly just run straight into the amp, though.

Nothing like a flat platform with a slight angle. I was wondering how it would work out for you as it looked pretty crowded.

Haha! Yeah, it was a disaster. I even used my shoe to guage the spacing I would need, but I had already built the frame, and there was only so far I could tweak the setup when I was done. My toes hit the pedals above, and my heel hit the back of the board. Oh well. I'll get it next time, when I get off the ship.

How do you like that Voodoo lab Tremolo?

I love it!! I've had it for probably almost 10yrs. I've never even looked at getting something different. It's exactly what I want, and it's totally transparent. Not everyone likes the wave shapes, but it's pretty normal if you crank it all the way to the left. I like it a little more interesting. The level control is a great boost, it fattens it up a little if you really want it to. I normally set it just above perceived unity.

Yeah, expression pedals at an angle feels weird to me but it works for everything else so I'll call it good. I've tried flat boards before and just couldn't stand the feeling of picking your foot up and over to a pedal. In looking at your board again it wasn't a bad idea. Velcro to spaced slats to allow for easier cabling between slats, your on to something though.

Ill get it dialed. Somehow. These are pretty much all the pedals I want, so that's about the size I'll need. I might make the next board without the pedals above the vibe/vp, which will open up some setup possibilities for me, although the board will get wider, which is what I was trying to avoid because of stage space.
