Thanks guys. It has been a bit of an eye-opener as I've not really had anything like this in my life. I usually bounce back fairly quickly. But I can't mess around with this, that's for sure. So I'm aiming to make some changes to lifestyle and take better care of myself. 42 sure as hell isn't 25...

Would love to hear that through a closed 2x12 or something.

Would love to hear that through a closed 2x12 or something. At some point I think I might add a 1x12 to mine. Traynor made one for their Dark Horse amp, which is kind of similar to the YGL1, and that cab contains the exact same speaker as the YGL does. It is a closed back cab but has removable panels so you can make it an open back if you want.

I'm just not crazy about the projection of a single speaker setup. And if I'm goin out of my way to source another cab, it's gonna be closed-back. Gotta have the thump. Not to say I don't like combos at all. But it's not quite my sound.

Not to say I don't like combos at all. But it's not quite my sound. Since I only play at home a combo works well for me. Maybe at some point, when I am living in another house and can set up gear in my basement, I will grab a head and cab setup but, for now, the combo serves my needs. I would love to grab the Union Jack tolexed Orange Rockerverb and cab set that is currently in stock at my local store but 50 watts of tube Orange is overkill for my needs. This is the set I am talking about: One of the main reasons I am even considering an additional cab for the YGL is because they are so readily available at such cheap prices on the used market. I mean at that point it almost becomes a no brainer. This is the Dark Horse cab that I would grab: traynoramps.com/guitar/horses/product/dhx12/

Cool cab. I'm quite a fan of the greenback. And a low-wattage amp into a single one will give you some nice speaker breakup.
Jonesing for an Orange myself.

One thing I like about this amp is the ability to add a cab along with the speaker, or disconnect the speaker and go right out to a different cab. Not that I'll likely ever need that, but if I ever did, it's nice to have.

Hey Drewjay! Welcome to the forum. I hope you’ll stick around and join us. I haven’t seen JDTO here since I joined in November.
I have a buddy who gigs his YGL-1 and loves it. I went to hear him play with his band and his Strat sounded great thru that amp. I was really impressed and it was on my short list of amps to try at one time before the pandemic hit. My main concern is that 15 watts might not be enough with my heavy handed drummer.
However, like I said, it’s a great sounding amp. Congrats!
