I dropped by to lurk earlier today and seeing this thread, decided I should give this another try. dB, I did receive your email and it was appreciated. I'm also grateful to all the members who contributed posts to this thread and made me feel as if I'd be welcome if I decided to come back. I think there's an element of truth in the fact that the main things that were troubling me were related to the political forum and I'm going to try to stay clear of it at this point. To a certain extent, the fact that the Canadian election was interesting to me was the main reason I chose to be involved there, but I may have wandered into other topics as well, which clearly was a mistake. Of course, once I'd contributed to a thread over there, that thread showed up on the main page whenever I visited and checked the section at the top that showed updates on threads I'd participated in. Incidentally, the straw that broke that camel's back for me was at the bottom of the main page, listing a new topic from the political section that had a pretty raw heading with language that left me a bit disgusted. I made the mistake of clicking on it and found the content particularly unpleasant and that's when I bowed out of the forum. At this point, I'm just going to stay with the conventional guitar-related and conversational sections and stay out of the political section, but the administrator and moderators might want to rethink whether those political topics should be exposed to the average reader who comes here looking for guitar-related content. I've missed being here. I regularly read and sometimes participate in TDPRI and Squier Talk, but I don't feel the closeness and friendship that I get from this place, and coming back is like coming home. So, I'm back, and I hope it's to stay this time. Please do stay, Ken. Just please avoid the political thread if it makes you uncomfortable. I think quite a few people on "this side" of the forum do just that and I think it is supposed to be a bit wild west in politics. Colchar did warn people when creating it... And WELCOME BACK,!

Yes that appeared at the bottom of my screen as well and despite the decades of listening to and using similar language in my lifetime, I was disgusted to see it in a Guitar forum.

I make it a point to not discuss politics or religion, I have my beliefs and no keyboard warrior is going to change them. Welcome back and please keep sharing your cool old guitar equipment.

Welcome back Looks weird to see only 12 posts to your name.
As for that listing--I must have mine set up--I don't see threads from the political section at all, except under the participated button--which I have to click on to see--and that only shows threads I have posted in with new posts--and sometimes even those don't show up on the list--so yeah--it could be a bit unnerving (At least) to see that if you are not expecting it.

Welcome back Looks weird to see only 12 posts to your name..... Yeah, too bad to have lost my previous post-count, but I've already graduated from Hack to Bar Band Player.
