I actually really enjoy playing acoustic, but rarely pick one of them up. I have a 6, 12, classical, banjitar and dobro. I am pretty good at finger picking(darn you Travis picking, you elude me), basic slide etc,.
Anyone else ignore their non electric friends?

Been wondering about that myself; I'm more of an acoustic player but I've been playing mainly electric for the last few months.

….maybe because electrics are louder? That’s my excuse! 😉

I haven't played my acoustic since I bought a new case for it. I am a fan of the old "stand guitar" and one the guitars go in cases they get played less...

I usually leave one on the stand at the end of my couch to strum during commercials.

I usually leave one guitar out on a stand. Currently have my Melody Maker sitting there.

I usually have about six of them on stands leave them out all the time. I have one of those 5 guitar Hercules stands (or is it 6?) and I used to do that too but all my guitars go into hiding when the humidity drops to 0% in the house during winter. Now I have 2 on the stand, but they are both archtops

I have all my guitars ready to play on stands. I think I may be too obsessed with pedals for my own good.
Must be strong!

I first learned to play guitar on an electric guitar. however, when I was stationed overseas without a guitar, I went to the PX and bought a Framus acoustic. one of the best playing guitars that I've ever bought. I played acoustic for many years. it was several years before I picked up an electric guitar again.

I run a dehumidifier in the summer when it gets very humid. I find that the action on my acoustics is pretty constant; haven't adjusted the TR once since they were set up but the TRs on some of the electrics need a tweak with the season changes - maybe because the action on them is closer to the edge than the acoustic guitars. Best humidifiers I ever had were those old twin tank console units from Sears. 2.5 gallon tank each side that was easy to fill because the cap was on the side just stick the tank under a tap; fan motors were quiet and filters were simple and cheap. Cant get that unit anymore. Now I have some donky machine; noisy as hell, have to fill the tank with a hose and the filter is some expensive rig. A real good example of some design genius not knowing when to leave well enough alone.

I need to play mine more. I have this beauty, and it is a shame to have it sitting in its case.

I play electric more often than aciustic--partly that's because of what I like to play. But I still like to play them. And when I first got my 12 string, I rarely played any other guitar for a couple of months.

Normally a Strat, but if I'm recording, then I'll often have an acoustic or bass on the other stand Attachments:

Well you need more stands than I do
For me taking the guitar out of the case is part of the experience.
but if I have a good chunk of time to play I leave them on stands.

Sadly I haven't opened the cases of my solid bodies since I put the archtops on the stand

That's an experience I am missing out on for sure. For me it is usually get the guitar out of the case as fast as possible so I can get the band set up before the job starts. So at home, whatever guitar is most convenient is the one that gets played

Good idea to rotate them. I don't think the cases of my solid body guitars have been open since March. I don't want to neglect them

I think my classical is up next & my EB3 copy bass... (After getting into fretless it just feels odd to play a fretted bass, but I can adapt to it.)

I wish I could take my Guild X-500 out on more jobs, but too many shows are outdoors and I really don't want to play it outside. That's one guitar I never play at home. Actually yesterday for the virtual concert I played my X-175, which I haven't played on a gig in over 4 years

First gig of 2021 coming up on the 16th. Just me on acoustic and my band bass player on electric bass. We're gonna try and run through most of the band setlist. I'm sure playing a lot of acoustic all of a sudden - oh my poor fingers!

Ya, those strings aren't quite as slinky. Where are you located? Just wondering what provinces are allowing such luxuries as to be entertained. LOL

I was just thinking maybe I should contact and make sure that it's still on. They may have anticipated Ontario opening up faster. ** Can anybody tell me how to get my reply out of this Quote Box?

You will feel great to be out and gigging again!
As far as the reply in the quote box goes, it happens when you backspace one time too many. When it happens to me I just cancel the post by back arrowing in the browser bar and starting over. They may be another way to fix it but I can't think of how

Ya, I would look into that as I don’t think Ontario is allowing live music yet. Last summer when they temporarily allowed bands to play indoor, they had to be behind a screen. I saw a video of a band playing and it looked like they were behind a huge clear shower curtain and theI sax player was off to the side, completely separated from the band and audience with more shower curtains. It looked ridiculous! It might be different on a patio. so where in the Niagara region are you located? I’m in Stoney Creek. Spellcaster used to live in Thorold when he was a young ‘un.
