I just can’t do a guitar that it’s main spokesperson is dressed as a private school boy...... In places like the UK and Australia uniforms are worn in all schools, not just private schools. Yep, as an Aussie expat, ours was white button shirt, grey shorts & maroon tie.

I remember when I was in high school the school uniform debate cam up as people wereconsiderign whether that should happen.
the main reason was to avoid the fashion wars & all that--expceet I didn't want to wear a school uniform & I wasn't into the fashion was. I wore jeans & a t-shirt or a denim shirt most of the time--and none of them were the expensive variety
I dressed for comfort & practicality. Didn't, and still don't care for whatever most people consider fashion.

So it is a good or bad thing about SGs that we got into a discussion of school uniforms?
I guess it depends on who you feel about Angus, I guess.

I don't like his dressing up, but you can't deny he's a good guitarist. When he did the dressing up, he probably did it as a gimmick. Turned out well for him

Apparently his sister & brother suggested it. Sounds like he used it as a crutch as well because he had stage fright. Way too late for him to change now. The audience would go mad.😄 He’s quite small as well, so suited him when he started Angus Schoolboy

I was never a fan of ACDC either. I always found the outfit odd, but who am I to talk

I wonder if it would be stranger for him not to come out with the school uniform, or the SG... Both probably Although some non guitarists wouldn't be able to tell you what was different if it wasn't a red SG...

Although some non guitarists wouldn't be able to tell you what was different if it wasn't a red SG... He does play different colour SGs. There's a DVD of a large concert where he breaks a string and the tech comes out with a black SG

I’ve only played them a few times.
My friend in HS had one with a really narrow nut and high action - it was a pig.
I played one of the original Les Paul SGs at Ring Music once; that was a great guitar and I can still remember how good the neck was even though I played the guitar for maybe 10 minutes. In terms of neck action it was a bit of a revelation as to what I should be looking for because up until that time I’ve never played anything so good.

Big fan of ACDC, not a fan of SG's at all. I owned a real sexy SG for a very short time in the early 90's because Angus used them, part of my misguided, ill spent youth!

So, a Custom, EB of some sort (SG shaped bass-without seeing the pickups it could be different models), Special & Standard. I wonder how many here were unaware RJD was a bass player as well as a singer, before just doing vocals most of the time.
