My Les Pauls don't have tuning problems - not even the Bigsby-equipped one. And the headstocks don't explode when I look at it funny. What am I doing wrong?
My 77 LPC I bought new is 10 lbs on the nose. There were heavier Lesters at the time I bought mine. I will also say the Yamaha SG and the Ibanez Artist I looked seriously at (comparable guitars) were both well north of 10 lbs. Seemed to be a thing in that era. That said, an LP is always a bit heavier than many other guitars, like SGs and Teles. I guess you like it or you don't. I like it.

Although I di once play an Artist Double Neck that was light. I'm sure it was under 10 pounds. As for tuning--I haven't had any issues with my Les Paul.

I played a friend's Epi 1275 many decades ago. It was as heavy as two SGs, which essentially it was. I grew a whole new respect for guys like Page and Howe and Felder and McLaughlin. No wonder 'pain killers' were so common in the industry.

I suppose a double or multi neck 5 best & worst list could be in the future. Although I do have limited experience with them.
